Of course they would pay for it, but also my insurance rate would go up.
I have a deductible of 500, it would not even be worth it to go threw the insurance company, because it looks as if the damages are going to a couple hundred over 500.

Well I guess if it is going to cost just a couple hundred over your deductible then you can just pay for it. But since you said that the insurance company would not pay for it, I think I and everyone thought you meant they were refusing your claim. Since I have read this thread yesterday I am all nervous about leaving my car somewhere out of my site. hahahaha. Peranoid because that just sounds way to easy to get into my car.

Were they trying to take the car or just steal stuff from inside? It'd be pretty tough to take a car with an immobilizer, unless its as easy to defeat as GM's immobilizer. Any thief who knows enough about the door handles should know about the immobilizer...

Damn. that sucks, megatron. sorry, dude. it's like john travolta said in pulp fiction when someone keyed his car: "it would have been worth them doing it just so i could catch them doing it". I've got a quick .45 ACP solution for that problem. I'm sure i could get the stains off my paint without too much trouble.

Jmanz, hook a brother up with the info for that alarm system. i've been looking at a few alarms, but i haven't heard of that. Of course, even without the pager, i can still sense a disturbance in the force when someone's looking at my Z the wrong way.

thanks jmanz. If you have anymore info on this alarm please let me know. What is the averg cost of that type of alarm. The body shop guy showed me, where they disable the alarm, threw the door handle.
Paying this money is going to hurt, especially right around the holidays.
I am still debating should i post pics. I just know some bastards, are reading this thread, and i don't want to give them any ideas, on what it should look like.

"shock" alarms are illegal. but any aftermarket alarm is good, as long as it can sense that the door handle is being jimmied. thats how 99% of all Z break-ins occur. I think next to the 94-01 Integra (stick a rod in there to push the lock button down, easy access), this car is the second-easiest car to break into. Nissan needs to get rid of that auto-window rolldown with the key inserted into the lock.

Did you get an aftermarket alarm, and if so, what type did you get. I want one with electric shock

Is there any way you can disable that auto-window rolldown "feature"?

If it's vandalism, that's probably covered by the comprehensive portion of your policy, which usually has a lower deductable.

checked everything in my policy.
For vandalism, my deductible is 500.
Even went to the insurance company, to double check.
The car is going into the shop on wed. Hopefully everthing will work out. But my christmas present to sophia(z) is going to be an alarm.

ROFL, you think fingerprinting is free? Anything short of Grand theft or murder isnt getting fingerprinted.

Funkin' haters. My dad has Farmers insurance and he paid the $120 (theft) deductible for Farmers to fix a ~$500 theft break-in. No raise in his premium or anything.

It is when you have cops in the family Almost any detective in any decent sized department can record a finger print and a computer does the rest.

Put that ROFL in your pipe and smoke it...

As for the topic, I was thinking about this and them ripping off the door handle is equivalent to them breaking the glass to get in. Either way its breaking and entering and your insurance should cover it.
