Just make sure you buy a CPO one.

And if youre going to mod it learn how to first. Cheap to mod.. Expensive if you get caught by the dealer.

2011 STI would be sick! The only way I would get a 350 with your budget is if I had plans to throw some twins on it and build the motor. Get a cheap one and have a motor built...

E46 maintenance is bad as long as you DIY. If you pay a shop well get ready to get ****ed. I would suggest getting the 6 speed instead of the SMG. I personally own a SMG and the damn smg pump went out on me last week. For a brand new one it will cost me 1500-2000 for the part alone. I can buy a used one from 500-750. On top of the pump I will need to pay a shop to change the pump because I do not have the software that is required once the new pump is installed.

Hmm didn't know the 335's has so many issues.

Evo 8 is also a good choice if you can find a clean one, they're cheap too if your willing to buy a 2003.

Wrong. 4yr/50,000 standard warranty.

And wrong again, because he was referring to the high pressure fuel pump extension which is indeed 10yr/120,000 miles.

Thanks for playing.

Don't be a tool. Yes I was wrong about the mileage. Couldn't remember. However there are more things to worry about. My fuel injectors went out at 55k. And he didn't specify just for the fuel pump. Thanks for playing? What a tool.

lol. His reply quoted a post specifically about the fuel pump.

*edit* And in reference to post 39, I consistantly get 22-23mpg with about 60/40 city/highway.

They don't have a lot of issues, just a lot of them all have the same issues. And talk about issues, I had an '03 Evo 8 and it was nothing but problems.

Like I said "yo yo", I had a 08 and the injectors went out at 55k and it was also throwing misfire codes. Because it was out of warranty, the dealer wanted several thousand to fix it.

In your situation, I'd go with either a new or used STi. The cost of ownership for a BMW is far too expensive, and the Z is impractical.

for all those who are suggesting EVO's, anything before the EVO X is extremely rare here, so that's pretty much out of the question

but yeah, definitely test drive all your options, and choose the car that you enjoy the most. i'd say that's the most important criteria is how you feel in your car, then the practicality of the car

New model AWD ftw, low cost cheap used Z with potential headaches at 80km on the odo, meh. BMWs are cool.

Why not an evo with those options?

And also, if youre willing to spend 38k on a diff car, you could just get a Z and mod it up. Since a Z is half of that price.

tbh its hard to compare when your price ranges are 15k... to 28k...
