Default Clutch Slipping?

Ok, here's my problem. Every now and then, I'll be driving along, and then suddenly my engine will rev, and the SLIP light comes on. I thought the SLIP light was for tire slip, which could be the case, but it has only happened on freeways, where the car isn't likely to suddenly loose traction.

This always happens in 4th gear, and I'm not sure exactly what IS happening. The fact that it only happens in 4th gear has me thinking its the clutch or the tranny, but I've only got 9500 miles on the car. Any suggestions, or ideas what might be happening?

Thanks

are you downshifting to 4th when this happens?
the SLIP light is for tire slip and not clutch slip (thats silly, impossible to show cluch slip)
Try this, turn your VDC off (button on the lower left) and try shifting into 4th. Slip light shouldn't come on.
If you are downshifting, learn rev matching.

I know all abotu rev matching, but thanks. I'm not shifting down either, shifting up usually when accellerating. Its the enthus. model too, so no VDC to worry about.

Sounds like clutch to me. Slip light? Who knows maybe the car detects increased engine speed with out increased wheel speed.

Its not the clutch, there are no instrument to detect clutch slip (at least not on the Z). the slip light is for showing slippery road condition (lost of traction it's in the manual)
enthus. model don't have VDC, but you do have TCS which is pretty much the same. so if tire slip your TCS kicks in and you have the slip light. Maybe the road had some sand/soil/water. Not sure if you have a button for TCS on the enthus. model, but if you do, turn it off and give it a try.

once again, ITS NOT THE CLUTCH!
