the most pointless thing is the radio/cd player (non-bose)...the sound quality is soooo bad....if i didn't have so many rattles i would replace the speakers/head unit in a sec!

My sunglasses (Oakley) do not fit in the holder as well although I could see some fitting this is the first vehicle mine did not fit. The passenger side cup holder is actually much better than the center console holders. I still wonder why stereo systems have tape players in them. I would have to say that is the most useless part in my car. I have the Bose system, so not sure if the non-bose has a tape deck.

a couple things
Yeah, the non-Bose stereo is pretty bad. Well, while the car is statonary, it's not so bad, but once it's moving and I have to turn it up, it's pretty bad, esp. the radio portion. However, I've heard worse factory car stereos myself... The non-Bose stereo has no tape deck.
The autodimming mirror to me works fine. As for the turn signal noise, yeah, it's a bit too soft for such a loud car. My Maxima's signal noise is much louder (and the Max is much quieter too). The funny thing is that the Z, 02+ Altima and Ford Focus seem to have identical sounding turn signals. I had the latter two as rentals before.
For me the glasses holder is useless, I don't wear shades. I have pretty bad vision and have to wear regular glasses all the time.

the most useless item? easy: it's the rear windshield washer spray. every once in a while i accidentally touch the right-side column bar, which sprays a few drops of washer fluid on my rear window. usually ruins a good wash.
btw, i agree that the blinker sound is way too soft. sometimes when i change my mind on turning, i don't remember to turn it off. makes me feel like an 80 year old.

I use the front cup holder for water and while it's a little flimsy it works OK. Have a cup of coffee occasionally but mostly water. If the water spills it does clean up OK.
The day I picked up my Z I was driving home after dark and turned the lights off when going to dim. Was that ever a suprise. When you lay your hand on top of the shaft and pull toward you the shaft rotates to the right and you're in the dark. I have done it once more but am careful now.
The turn signals are about as loud as the ones on my truck so thats never been a problem.
My sweetie and I are going out of town today for our first overnighter in the Z and I'm concerned about her getting all of her "stuff" in the roadster trunk.
With all it's faults and short comings, I'll take the Z over anything else on the road. I just turned 65 and this is the most awsome toy I have ever had.

I first told her "NO, you're gonna drink it in the parking lot before we leave," but then I thought to myself, "she is hot, we are spending the night together in a hotel, I'd better let her do what she wants!" I think I drove 65 mph the whole way down and was looking nervously at that cup of coffee tipping over. What a predicament I was in!

So that brings up a question ... what part of the Z do you think is the most pointless? I vote for that cause I have never used it once. Other pointless items include:
1) The flimsey passenger side cup holder
2) Any buttons on the steering wheel cause i never touch them
3) The inside trunk release
4) The rear wiper
If you can think of anymore let me know!

1) I actually use the drink holder all the time, so...no.
2) I use my CC at least once a week, so.....no.
3) I'll be glad it's there and so will you when your Z plumets into the depths of the ocean or lake, so.......no.
4) I've used it once or twice, but could get along without it, so....maybe.
I do agree with you on the keyhole. But it could come in handy when by batt in the fob dies.
My vote for near worthless is the stopwatch. I have used it once to find out how far my wife was behind me in another car via our Nextels.
Oh, Oh, I know whats the most worthless! One word.......BOSE!

Most useless thing is the cassette deck. Cassette? I'm sure nobody uses them in Japan anymore so they must think we're cavemen here in North America. Give me an MP3 Deck please and thank you.
