What is the most pointless part of the car?
I use the cupholder all the time and it doesn't seem that flimsy to me (maybe better on '04s???)
The interior trunk release is probably pretty pointless. The idea is that it's there for if kids are playing hide and seek and hop in the trunk and lock themselves in and then die and/or suffocate from the heat in the trunk. However, our trunk opens right into the cabin so whats the point? I mean, I could probably squirm under the strut bar so if it's a kid (which I don't have) it would have to be a damn big kid to get stuck back there. And the only way I'm going to wind up in my trunk is if the mafia jacks me and tosses me back there, in which case the ability to pop the trunk doesn't do me any good cuse if i jump out they'll shoot my *** anyway.
I think the window lockout feature is pretty damn useless. I mean two windows folks, and where that button is located on passenger side it's really hard for a little kid to reach over and whack it and roll the window down, then jump out the window without you knowing it.
As for the cubby where the nav goes, I love that thing. Yea, it's not big enough to hold a CD but that's why you have the 2 mail boxes + glove compartment plus I find that a CD wallet (like for 60 CDs) fits nicely behind the passenger seat where it can't be seen from outside but is really easy to get to as the driver. The cubby hole can fit my iPod and seucurity gate card just fine.
I also have the issue of flipping off my headlights on accident...ASSUMING I remember to turn them on because when there is a lot of light on the street and with the lighted interior, sometimes I forget...auto on would be a nice feature...

me either!
1. Cupholder in the passenger seat.
When I picked my baby up at the dealership, and when dealer gave me a brief description of amentities and features of the car, I was freaked out of the damn poor quality of the front passenger cupholder. Ever since then, I never used it, and pulled it out only 3 times to just check it works. (Who cares since I never use it?) The point of cupholders in center is sooo back behind is, if they are not located there, they will always bother you when you are shifting. I think Nissan didn't have many choices due to the relatively small cockpit and design of the interior.
My sunglasses perfectly fit in the storage!
Interior Trunk release button? Kids can't even play inside because there is a dang thick strut bar in there so space is fairly limited and I know I won't be able to crawl under the strut bar so I know I won't need them. Heck, I won't even be able to reach it!

Have any of you ever tried to roll up your windows from outside your car without the driverside key hole ... i think it would be pretty difficult.
the cup holder isnt all that flimsy itll hold a 44 ounce drink from jack in the box just fine, but having a drink that size in there does make me more than a lilttle nervous it tends to bounce a little.
i LOVE my ridiculous door handles they are one of the things that makes this car so unique
i too have turned off my lights accidentally on more than one occasion
the window lock is designed for the a$$hole next to you ... also happens to be your best friend and wants to play with the auto up and down feature.
the navigation space which on my base is empty holds my wallet and cell phone perfectly so my wallet doesnt give me an A$$ cramp while im driving
the most useless thing i can think of is the ... i guess you could call it an ash tray, but its lined with felt or something ... its not really deep enough to store anything in. its too small to hold my change ... i use the two cupholders for that ... i have a lot of change haha. not to mention the fact i dont smoke ... evenif i did i would never smoke in my Z

it's FUNCTIONAL!
And, it looks COOL!
As for a useless feature........all the wasted space between the seat backs & "The Gateway Arch".

I think after almost a year of ownership this is the first time I really noticed it because I always lock/unlock with the automatic hand-held device thingie. So that brings up a question ... what part of the Z do you think is the most pointless? I vote for that cause I have never used it once. Other pointless items include:
1) The flimsey passenger side cup holder
2) Any buttons on the steering wheel cause i never touch them
3) The inside trunk release
4) The rear wiper
If you can think of anymore let me know!

One of the most wasted "features" (or, really non-feature) of the Z is the false panel and hence, the lack of a sizeable storage compartment, behind the driver's seat on non-Touring models. (On Touring models this is where the subwoofer goes.) The lack of this being made into a usable storage compartment with a hinged, lockable lid is especially unforgiving since there is no glove compartment in the dash and it is sometimes difficult to put valuables out of view.
I also wish it had a moon roof, but that's another story.

I dont know if any one brought this up, but the Adapter for car chargers/radars should be closer to the front.... for Radar pupose's they should have a 2nd outlet near the front mabe on the bottem right of console by passengers left leg like in some cars....

Most useless things:
1) Warning stickers on the visors
2) the felt lined thing that is there instead of an ashtray (mine broke, and I got an actual ashtray, which at least if 3 times deeper and almost useful)
3) Plastic engine cover
4) Window lock, since it locks out the driver from using the window, too

5) TCS (for me, anyway)
6) Heated seats (of course, if I was still in cleveland....)
7) Power seats (hehe, glad I got an enthuisiast)
8) Agree about the non-used of space behind the driver
9) Space-wasting stryofoam in the truck, but'll soon be part of very useful sub box

10) rear-wiper fluid. It always leaks when I step on the gas hard (but that jsut may be the car getting excited
)I love the autodim; I only with the side mirrors had it.
Wish I had the compass in the mirror or in the trip computer window
With we had the convex ridehand mirror some cars in europe have
Agree about the lights. I flick them on/off by accident lots of times.
The stupid dispaly that tells me it is "icy" and defaults to the temp display. I use the digital speedo and it just messes with my mind. Of course I can always tell the cop that "I didn't realize I was going 130; the display was reading 37!"

Hey 03 Guys, go check out the 04 Z. THe sun glasses bucket is bigger...by almost a double.
The most useless thing to me: the dimming guage lights.....(a lot of cars have this, but i dont know whats the point of it...is not like i will dim the guage at night)
edit: the rear hatch button under the struct is useless too...infact, it doesnt work!

Biggest waste on the car is the rear spoiler. With the size of that thing you can expect 1% performance gain over 120mph...but whatever they threw it in free (sigh). If anything the car looks better with it. Yea and WTF am gonna plug into that lighter behind me?
