I think were getting off topic here.
1) Replacing the Z
Have you considered the 370Z They're sweet.
And M3 is guranteed satisfaction.
Audi S6, RS4?
Lexus ISF
2)Instead of SLK 55 AMG
*You want a uncommon luxury (non) sedan*
How about.. I don't know if these are out of your price range (or how much they are in the american markets for that matter).
Aston Martin (any)
Jaguar (they have atleast 1 that's a 2 door coupe)
Maserati?
R8?
Those are just the tip of the iceberg, there's so many possibilities.

if an R8 was in his price range i dont think he would be debating buying an SLK 55 AMG

How do you logically go from a Z to an R8? I agree with the above poster in that if you have that kind of money, put it into a nicer house and not a depreciating object which can be stolen.
Personally, my Z is more than just a car to me. It matches who I am more than any other car I have driven. It is fun, hard to control, falls apart on occasion, but in the end is a lovable standout. I don't ever plan to get rid of it.
My next car is going to be a Volvo S60 to replace my wife's Accord when (if) it dies.

so..
OP, since you mentioned an SLK ( yes its is UBER ghey, its like the mercedes verious of a miata btw and should generally have a PFLAG rainbow sitcker on it) .. you are obviously a smalller person.. no offense.
In that case, youre BEST bet if you want a nice car is not have two cars that do the same thing. Buy one nice one.
If it was ME?
And if i was a foot shorter?
2003 Lotus Esprit twin turbo v8.
can be had for 50 grand w maybe 12k miles on it.
OR get yourself a nice used 996 turbo.. same price, 50-65k. And then you have a porsche 911 turbo.. end of game, you win.
See how that works ?
OR.. save your money.
