Gas is traded on the public market, its the same price here as in the EU, except they have a lot of taxes.

Of course, we're using Shell gas cards we bought at the Publix supermarket with a coupon that gives you $10 off on a $50 card when you buy $25 worth of groceries. We mostly buy stuff that's on special to make up the $25 order, so it works out pretty well. Their specials are usually the same or a little lower than the local WalMart price for the same items, and both stores are conveniently located.
I'm going to have to check out those Shell gas cards at Publix. I hope they have the same deal here in FL.

The coupon is in the weekly sale sheet available at the store. I'm sure it's available in FL, since we got it with the Tallahassee newspaper, too.

The local store ran out of cards for Shell and BP, the two companies that have the most branded stations in the area. They did give rain checks for when their new supply gets in, though.

Thanks - it is in my local flyer, and it expires today. Too bad it's only one card per customer, though, as I just spent $68 filling up the Z.

It's $4.29 for premium here in Hawaii (neighbor island). It's about $4.49 in the country side. Doesn't bother me much, but must really suck for all the lifted trucks here.

$3.99 for 93 premium without ethanol. With ethanol $3.86 for 93 premium. I of course got the non-ethanol. Wichita Falls Tx. Both were shell gas stations today not even a 1/2 mile away from each other.

Don't lose any sleep over it - the US military is the big consumer, not cars. The military uses oil for 75% of all energy production, and 50% of that budget is from jet planes. The M1 Abrams tank travels obtains 0.6 mpg, and a Bradley fighting is 2 mpg. Estimates for military lie around 450,000 barrels per day, and they purchase 131 million barrrels per year off of the oil market.

Public consumer-owned cars are only a small fraction of the fuel that the US uses, somewhere around 17% of all imported oil. Reducing the average mpg of all cars will save far less than reducing military use.
