Default New Discovery

ive had my touring Z for almost 9 months and i just found this out.

my buddy was putting some stuff in the trunk of my car, and i though i'd help him. i put the keys in my pocket. on my way to open the door i noticed the windows were all the way down. its in the mid 30's here so its not like i left them open. i figure out that if i held the unlock button on the alarm remote, both windows would roll down automatically. SWEET!!

from that point i tested it out using the key, and i noticed that when i turn the key counter clockwise the windows open, and when i turn it clockwise, the windows close. however the windows didnt close when i held down the lock button on the remote.

anyway my point is...why didnt the dealer tell me about this when i got the car?? and what other cool tricks does this thing have that i dont know about?

well thats a start.

also you can find a false bottom in the glove box, pick up the bottom panel and youll see it.

personally I like if its cold out and you have it on auto, the heat wont blow cold air at you, it waits for the engine to warm up. maybe thats normal these days, but my last car didnt have auto AC of any sort.

The funny thing is I asked my dealer if the windows go down by using the key fob and he told me no. But yeah its pretty cool and functional for summer days.

i just took a peak at the false bottom thing....it'll come in handy if i ever install anything that needs to be put in the glove box.

and i love the auto function on the dial. i have it set at 72 for the winter.

ouch....that has got to suck. heh oh man i cant imagine how i'd react if i did that.

as for reading the manual....do you guys actually read the directions when putting something together like a wall outlet or ceiling fan or ne thing somewhat complicated? NO!! just figure it out as you go along. if you got buzzed, "oh maybe im not supposed to do that!!".

while your sitting there reading "directions" the only thing that is actually happening, is you wasting work time. manuals, why dont we start asking for directions if we get lost? hehe...i dont think so.

manual....bla!
dont tell me what my car comes equipped in a 800page manual...ill figure it out.....eventually.

My wall outlet doesn't have rolling windows.

However, I did read the entire manual while sitting on my toilet.
It's not that hard, took me 10 min.
You should try it sometimes.

Why is it that we all know alot about almost every car out there, but the dealers don't know S*it about the cars they're selling? That's so stupid. I've met a couple dealers that actually know there stuff, but most of them are duds. I remember goin to check out the new accord coupe V6 with my cousin. I asked the dealer if it was DOHC or SOHC. I knew is was SOHC but He didn't know. He then proceeded to his computer and "informed" me that it was indeed a DOHC motor. What an idiot.

I realized that the people who know their stuff are the mechanics in the back who get looked down upon by the guys in ties.

Yes, I read my manual two time the night I brought the car home, I think it's fun to learn everything you can about your car.

Because, like it or not, technical knowledge doesn't sell cars. It helps to supply ammunition, especially in comparisons, but the general public doesn't really care that much, and often gets bored. It's only us enthusiasts that care about that kind of knowledge.

And that's why you had to ask about the windows rolling down
