Only been lurking around for a couple of days and decided to jump in. A little info. I'm 63 y.o.. Been wanting a Z for a while now and have decided to take the plunge. There have been a few for sale in my area and have test drove a couple. Unfortunately the two I liked best have been sold. I don't plan on racing or doing any high dollar mods. Would like as close to stock as possible. I am currently eyeing a 04 Touring but the color is not the most desirable. Daytona blue I think it's called. It's at a dealer and isn't moving despite a reasonable price. Looks like aftermarket wheels also. They appear to be chrome and I would prefer alloy if that's what is stock. I don't want to buy online. The two I drove were AT but I (not my wife) would prefer MT. I have a lot of questions but thought I would check in and let ya"ll know I'm around.

Not sure what you're using to search, but try looking at autotrader.com if you haven't already. If you haven't it'll let you search like up to 250 or 300 miles etc from your zip. It's where I found mine, was a little under 300 miles away. I wanted specific colors (White or yellow) and ended up finding a Ultra yellow at a decent price.
Good luck!

I searched up to 200 miles in order to find my Z...I got lucky there was a local one in great shape and a great price for a base model.

Good luck and yes,get a MANual if you can hold out...I held out over 2 years for a white base manual model with 30K or less miles and unmolested...

Welcome.

If you are shopping for a 350Z, and color is important, be patient. The right color will come along. Spring is arriving, and it is sports car time. The 350Z will move fast. Be ready to make your buy quickly. We often hear “ I was going to but a Z but it was sold."

It was sold because the buyer made a reasonable offer, and had the cash to back up the offer.

Relax, the search is half the fun of owning a Z! I am in my mid 50s and had a chance to buy a new 2006, but waited for the 2007 HRs to come out and I am glad I did. If you can afford it, keep shopping and try for the HR's! But not matter what, I am glad you are considering a Z. I looked at a lot of cars and did a lot of research. I have a 2007 enthusiast model - redline red - with MT . . . absolutely no regrets here! Can't wait to get it back on the road. Wisconsin winters means a long wait from fall to spring! But its worth it!

I probably looked at about sixty and drove about forty cars before buying a leftover '08 350Z touring coupe 5AT in July of '09. I'm happy with the car, but I sorta miss looking at and driving other cars. I may start looking again just for the fun of it.

BTW, I'm 65, so I'll enjoy having some company on the forum.

Well, everything best in life comes when you just wait. The Z will choose you, yeah kinda corny. Anyways, Please buy the 07-08 models because they have the better motor. Since you don't want to do many mods this should be a good choice of years. If you did want to do superchargers, turbos ect.. its easier to get a 06 and below because those parts are easier to find.

Oh Btw I'm 23 years old, since everyone is telling their age.
