Default Buying a new Z in a few months

Hi I'm new here and drive a 06 Altima right now but I'm about to buy a new 350Z and was looking at a 2006 350Z but I've read about the OC issues and have searched both this site along with others on the internet. But it seems that most articles about it were between 2006-2007.

My question is if I find a Z that runs good and has about 50k miles is there a good chance it won't have any OC issues or is it possible to just happen whenever. If so I might look torwards an 04 or 05 since the 07's are a little pricey around my area.

Thanks for the replies.

Take your time and search around. Only time will tell if you have issues. If it does have oil consumption you'll be under warranty. Nissan knows of this issue. Just use the Search button and keep finding info. Some have no oil consumption, while others do. I guess it is just luck. Anyway, good luck on your find, but got an 08 Z and no problems besides the factory alignment being off. If you can opt out for the HR.

Oil Consumption.

The issue was only there for '06 revups to my knowledge.

edit: Oh you mean specifically for an '06. Grats, you've done your homework I think if it's gonna do it, it'll do it soon. I wouldn't expect an engine to suddenly start consuming excessive amounts of oil at 80 or 100k, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the replies I'm going to call Nissan and see how long the warranty last for the OC issue since I can't find the details online. I want to have all the facts before I spend about 15-17k on a car.

Thanks again.
