lol...never mention street racing on this forum; it's fuel for the insta-flame. Other than sounding a bit egotistical and being one of the few people on here who actually admit they street race, I think you sound somewhat reasonable.

For 30g's I would buy a TT 350z and keep the rest of the money to fix whatever breaks. That is given you have cash...if you're looking for a loan, chances are you'll be better off with a *new 2010* 370z as there is currently $2k dealer cash on those and you can get quite a deal. Problem would be finding what you want. If you do buy a 370, be sure to get the sport package.

There is a 101.2% chance he will crash either car.

I swear on my life if he buys either there will be threads that follow, titled "should I buy this?" linked with some car part on ebay. Mark my words!!!

It's great how many 350z owners say the 370 is ugly. I live with my bro and he has a ppw 350z and I have a pw 09 370z w sports package and I can not tell you how many people have asked how I could of done that to my bro. Then there's people that can not tell them apart. And just 1 out of maybe 50 who gave their opinion said the 350 was nicer. 370z's brakes are a plus. Stock wheels are awesome with sport package, and IMO one of the nicest read ends on any vehicle.

In reality they are both great cars and it comes down to your budget and neither one is that much "better" than the other.

For the guy who said a 370z can't beat a 350 on a road course or 1/4 mile must of posted on 4/20.

My car isn't exactly stock but I get compliments every time I get in my car from 7 year olds to grandmas taking afternoon walks.

Both are great cars though. Drive them both and decide for yourself.

12.2 is fastest 1/4 n/a for a 370z so far. Keep that in mind.

I'm picturing you driving past retirement homes with your windows rolled down, music thumpin', cruising for old ladies: "Hey grandma, you like my wheels, yo?"

Also, check with insurance rates. I recently almost bought a 370z as a second car to have next to my 350z but the insurance was almost double!

Lmao, no not to that extent. On just one occurance I was in a residential
Neighborhood at a stop sign and a little old lady hobbling next to me says " very sharp car , be careful in that beauty" I'll never forget it. I was just inferring that it's appealing to a broad genre of people. Just as the 350z does as well though. It's just the 370z is a lot less of a common site so many don't exacty know what it is, even 3 years after it's release. Much like s2000s.

No "yo's" I'm my vocabulary either. Just FYI.

Im 21, I bought my 350 when I was 19, i can understand that he wants a good looking car, but dude, the street racing bit is just too much. Acting stupid with your friends on the road is never ok. Enjoy the car for its daily use and its performance. Get a 350, get some bolt-ons, a tune, track wheels/tires, and try some "real" racing with the scca. B-Stock, look it up in your area. Now thats some fun.

if you got $30 grand to spend, buy a car for half of that, a few thousand in performance upgrades, and the other $10 large for your tickets.

See here is the problem. The Z is a car for people who don't spend their weekends touching themselves in front of their Vin Diesel poster. Might I recommend the perfect car for you:

It cannot be defeated and hopefully, when you die in a ball of fire, you will at least look good doing it.

I don't think the 370z looks as bad as some people think it does, but the 350z definitely looks better. For 30k, which I am assuming is a combination of cash down and financed the rest or that you don't want to finance anything, you should go for a 350z, hands down.

Believe it or not there are gently used 2008 350z's out there. I got one. And I got lucky. If you put a bit of time and work into looking, I'm sure you can find exactly what you want.

Good luck to you.

(Side note, the relocation of the bar in the hatch area on the 370z is amazing, but not worth $5-6k!)

Lol... I saw the thread title and quickly scrolled thru for davidv's input. You are starting to get predictable.

My. 02. ...... Get a c6 vette if you can spring for the 370..... With more aggresive wheels it looks like a z06 and rapes both zs

I think the 370 is very attractive except for the headlights and tails. It's hard to call a car ugly when you only dislike one aspect. It's just too bad that one aspect is REALLY hard to alter...

seeing them in person does the 370z much more justice. I think they stand out more than a 350z. But still, I agree, they need to cool it on the lights.

Im baffled by all the people that say the 370 is "ugly" or just "ehh" or even that the 350 is more attractive. They are very similar looking cars...so if the 370 is ugly, that says something about the 350 (which im sure 98% of the people that say the 370 is ugly, own a 350 themselves). I own a 350 and I love the styling of both cars. I would definitely take a 370 over my 350. To me, its curvier and looks more modern, or futuristic if you will. But, everyone has their own opinions and is entitled to them, but thats my 2 cents! Cant go wrong with either, unless you cant handle either car..

I like this idea the best. Sometime in the middle of 2010, I found a 2007 HR enthusiast (LSD) Z, with only 16k miles on it for $17.5k. It was in IMMACULATE condition -- garaged, owned by an older couple; not even any rock chips in the bumper when I took ownership.

If money is not a factor, obviously the 370z is the better buy. But a mint HR Z that will get you ~95% of the performance at ~60% of the cost was just too tempting for me.

edit: Also agree that maybe you should consider a used c6 vette. You're willing to go used, hence the 350z option, and you're willing to spend $30k...so won't hurt to take a look.
