My mom has a 98 Nissan Pathfinder with close to 230k on it, and its falling apart. I put a new waterpump and valve cover gaskets in it and I think the starter is starting to go out.. She is leaning twards a getting 350z. She has owned a 240z back in the day and a Corvette after that, so its been a while since she has shopped for a car.

Top things she is questioning:

-What can she get for 10k?

-What year should she look for?

-How bad is the gas mileage?

-Any pros/cons?

those have alot of mods, she just wants a stock one.

 

I have my 2004 base 350z (my baby) for sale that I'm looking to part with. 100700 miles, very light mods (nismo exhaust, stillen short intake, plenum spacer). Wax and cared for greatly, you paint is great! Also installed a rear view camera system with the dash monitor.

 

Its just to give you an idea about the prices.

Not much, it would need to be a very high mile, first year car.

Because shes looking at a low price, stick with 03-04.

Not bad at all, on average you'll get in the low 20's

Cons are not so good in rain or snow.

 

Look for an automatic!!

No need for "my mom" tales. The 350Z is for you isn't it.

 

Look for any thing newer then a 2007 with the HR motor, any thing older they have a tendency to have front tire wear problem /

 

Pros: nothing handles like a Z! Power is always there, 6 speed is geared just how you want it to be.

Cons: Like another poster said, awful in snow. Rain isn't horrible, but still not great. Not much space for groceries but c'mon, it's a 2 seater.. you have to expect it!

Mileage: I got anywhere from 22 to 27 average, 30 or better on highway road trips.

Price: 10,000 is reasonable IMO for an early 350. I was planning on selling mine for about $10k with 60k miles. I ended up going TT, may sell it this summer/fall, but it still has its hooks in me for now = D
