Probably a stupid question but, does the stock 350Z have enough power to break the rear wheels loose when during a burnout?
I've got a set of old tires that i'm going to kill off before getting new ones but I can't seem to get the rears to break loose before the tires catch on. I've got a base model Z so I don't have VDC or LSD to begin with so that shouldn't be the problem. I watered down the back tires to get em to break free easier but still no dice.
But before questions about technique gets thrown at me, the way I do 'em is to rev it around 5.5k in first gear - pop the clutch and at the same time apply a little brake with my left foot while holding the gas and balancing it out.
I'd either hit a stand-still and stall or start grabbing the ground and just do a really bad launch.
Flame and helpful advice both welcomed.

You need to do the burnout mod before your can do one in the Z. Do a search for the mod.
BTW, the Z is not FWD!! Many don't know, but the Z has a torque controlling center diff and is actually an awd system that sends power to the tires that are slipping.

Lmao, very creative solutions... I think i'm going to try them all.
And I haven't actually been driving stick for long. First car that's stick besides the other random standard cars I've driven that belong to other people.
Well thanks for some people trying to get legit responses but as for other people, thanks for making this thread entertaining.

As someone else said, forget the burnouts and do the drifting... cruise in 1st, turn and dump clutch into second and enjoy. Make sure you have comprehensive insurance first.
people, people the guy said "burnout" not "donuts"....
rev it to redline and just let go of the clutch........kidding....
just rev it a lil more than usual and let go of the clutch...but keep gassing it....if u want to practice do it in the rain...lol!

Are you just reving to 5K and dumping the clutch? Why don't you try this, rev it to 2500-3000 and start letting the clutch out. As the clutch begins to grab, simultaneously floor it and pop the clutch. You have to give it some gas to make it spin.
