My Z
Welcome to my build thread! I wish I had started this when I got the car a year ago hah. This will help me keep some stuff organized and easy to find. I'll post info in here blog style and hopefully some people can learn from it. I am just trying to give back to the community because without it, my car wouldn't be where it is now! Plus it's an easy way for me to share what I'm doing to my car and ***** her out a little haha.

She is a 2007 Nissan 350Z base model in Silver Alloy with a black cloth interior. Base model means no cruise control, traction control or VLSD. I enjoy not having TCS or VDC, but I do miss cruise control at times haha. This car has enough power to where if you don't pay attention to your speed on the interstate you can be severely speeding before you know it!
The lack of a VLSD sucks when you're a broke *** college student like myself.. but if I was a baller and could afford a Quaife (one day..) then it wouldn't be an issue.

FSM: I don't want to host this but find it and use it. This is the most powerful tool out there if you learn to use it. One of the best things about Nissans is the FSMs!
Annoyances:
-The finish on some interior panels scratches way too easily.
-When installing my test pipes two bolts snapped and one O2 sensor was ruined because they were all seized up.
-Sometimes 2nd gear sucks. Specifically it feels grindy when the car is still cold, and sometimes it grinds really bad when I shift hard into 2nd from 1st.
-My drivers seat has some sort of issue. Sometimes when I'm putting lateral force on it from my body weight while driving around corners it shifts a tiny bit and I hear a click noise.
-The fuel pump makes a really high pitched wine noise that the dealership somehow doesn't hear.
-Hesitation in low RPM's sometimes.
-The factory oil pressure gauge is garbage and reads like 5 PSI when I'm idling.

nice build thread op, and dont worry i have the same transmission issues however mine grinds on reverse and sometimes on seconds gear. try letting the car warm up a bit before moving it, ive noticed i rarely get grinds when its warm

Hey, your Z's still looking good! I still have your LMGT4's and keep them looking MINT
I ordered the JDM Z emblems for the front and back for my Z and they should arrive this week. I'm going to delete my 350z emblem as well. Did you have a "shadow" in the paint after removing your emblem and if so were you able to get rid of it? Oh, I deleted my rear wiper and sprayer as well after seeing your car in person
EDIT: Just removed my 350z emblem and it left a red shadow from the letters. I applied and removed around 10 coats of Scratch-X and it went from easily visible to so light that you have to be in a certain light to barely see it! It looks great and I'm just waiting on the Z emblems now. Here's a pic from someone else's car:

Aados, your build thread is coming along nicely. Poor folk? I had to Co-op two semesters just to get a 2003 model with high miles... lol.
I take it you go to Auburn and probably a ME major?
Georgia Tech ME Class of 2011 here
Hopefully we will meet again at a future Atlanta autocross or even better, at Barber.

Thanks for posting the great videos. Gotta love the guy who sits calmly in front of a car doing 130+, even if it's tied down.
I could hardly afford gas when I was in school, and it was only 30 cents a gallon.
