I remember that they said some vehicles are tested.. batched as they say... to verify that the cars are in fact fully functional... something like 30 miles. If you can had more than 10 or more than 40 your getting more than a new car.. a new car driven hard.

I just got my 350z on last thurs. I already got the mod itch and am trying to plan what to do to it when i sell my old car. I'm only 17 as well, insurance for me is about 3500 a year.... so i hafta pay for part of that and such.... I am pushing my dad for an exhaust however he keeps telling me that it will "void the entire warranty" which i am trying to prove it won't. I may hafta settle for aesthetic mods :-( but hey, i'm a 17 yr old w/ a Z... i can't complain

The reason you ignore the advice of Nissan Engineers regarding break-in is because maximum performance only comes when the car is initially driven at ALL RPM LEVELS. Simply stated the entire cylinder walls need to be broken in. Limiting the car to 4,000 RPM's for 1, 500 miles results in less long-term performance.
This has been the subject of much discussion on this board and I tend to believe the independent folks, such as mechanics and race car drivers who state that periodically the car (any car for that matter) should be driven to its maximum RPM's during break-in.

pics of Oppama wharf finally up
(resurfacing an old thread)
I've finally got around to putting up all the pictures I took of Oppama wharf (where tons of cars are parked waiting to be loaded up onto a ship) up on imagestation.
Go to http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287816845. You'll need a free membership to view them. The unmodified images are directly off my digital camera so they're not low-bandwidth friendly.
My apologies for the poor photography. They were the best I could do from inside a small tour bus in a short period of time.
