how do you get the stick handle off?

i tried to screw it off, but not hard cause i thought id damage it.
im intrested in buying the nismo stick handle, and i want to know how to get the stock one off?

is it just screw off? or how do i get it off?

stick handle? heh Ive never heard it refered to it as that. I call it a shift **** but to each his own. What I did was wrap it in a towel and then I used a channel lock pliers. It worked but it was a pain in the ***. Its still tight even after about 3 full rotations. Then after that it gets loose. Be careful, the leather on the factory **** is very easliy damaged. Even using the towel the leather still looks a little roughed up.
