Rent a Truck to all your things if you need it, U haul, Ryders, etc. your choice. Rent a trailer that puts all 4 wheels on the trailer and off the road. Take your time and make the trip. You have all your things with you upon arrival ready to put in place, your car with no mileage, wear and tear on it, and a piece of mine. I did it that way and it was a nice trip, 2,800 miles without a hitch and actually enjoyed the trip.

if its not a flat bed, don't tow it. 800 miles isn't that bad, I drove a supercharged vw vr6 1700 miles during a move, took me 3 days having to rest my car up every few hours and overnight. would've been cheaper to just have somebody haul it.

If it were me:

1) Rent a penske and trailer. Why penske? They guarantee you will everything you want to rent at the location you rent from. U-Haul doesn't do that ****. i've moved seven times in the past six years and two of those times I had drive nearly an hour out of my way each direction to the get whatever U-Haul trash I needed. Penske isn't that much more and their trucks are newer and cleaner.

or

2) Drive stuff down to GA. Fly/drive back to OH and drive Z down.

I would either drive my car or have it shipped via flat bed. Towing it is not something I'd do

Drive it, you wont reget it...

flew to Rochester, Minnesota to pick up my Mr2 and drove it back 1100 miles with only 4 cans of red bull, 1 cd with 11 tracks on repeat and a total of 16hrs with only a 45min rest when I got into Ohio.

That is a trip where you will say, "Man i wish i was driving my car right now" more than once if you dont drive it. Just dont be stupid and over zealous during your ride, just enjoy it
