Man I would like some money if you have to spare some. Heck I will even give you cashback percentage for every dollar you give me.

I want to highlight your words and hope you follow them.

"i believe i will get a good motor for a good price and do a slow build like planned"

I hope you take your time and see the prices I listed for a low mileage motor with a warranty compared to the $1300 motor you listed. Also keep in mind there is a freight option as well. If the motor is warrantied, cheaper than locals, and has paperwork from junkyard proving mileage then freight is a great way to saw on cost, time,...blah blah blah.

Do your research and don't jump for the first deal you see. I have seen many deals around your area but will not be doing all your research for you and spoon feeding you. I gave you plenty of information to make a good judgement on what the original motor you linked it worth. Many would tell you $1300 is a fair price but I will tell you only the seller is benefiting from the $1300.

Also why are you iffy on a motor that has issues, you are planning on pouring $$$$ into it to replace all the parts on the motor except the block and head. If a motor is burning oil and you are planning on rebuilding then all it needs it a oversize piston, new rings and machine, balance, hone the block along with ugprading rest of the parts. If the motor is making a ticking noise due to valves or a rod it does not matter since you plan to rebuild the whole thing anyways. You could spend $1000 and get a good motor and then rip it down to core and rebuild or or buy a 'CORE / cheap motor" and rebuilt it...same results.

good luck man and hopefully you come out of this with less money than you had planned on spending. Take your time and negotiate with sellers and provide them information of the competition and their prices.

btw...i am in tx and if you want just give the money to ACIDJAKE and we shall split it..thanks for the funds holmes.

Glad you found a similar motor for a lot less than $1300. Now keep on finding crazy crack head deals on parts and get your beast all built up and putting serious power on the dyno.
