I'm glad that someone at age 60 is able to keep a youthful outlook. I'd rather be mistaken for 20 than 70.

In my old Si I sometime come to a stop in 6th at a stop sign then forget to shift out of 6th and roll out in 6th. Granted those were the days i commuted to school at the wee hours in the morning looking like a zombie. It was almost like a shaking ritual to wake me up because for the first 35 mph all i feel is SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE WANTING TO DIE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE. 4:30 am is a stupid time to go to school, i find myself sleeping through my first two classes in my car.

I was born in 1943 and am still able to find my way around computers. Also, I've been driving manuals for about 51 years.

I started out in 3rd gear the evening I brought it home from the dealer, lol. Stalled it, kind of embarrassing, the salesman was standing right there. And I've been driving MT's for 38 years plus, lol.
My clutch is still strong with 110,000 miles on it, and a lot of those have been spirited.

Hey good for you. I wish I could get my dad into cars again but he doesn't seem to show much interest unless it has to do with a 69 Mustang, which was his favorite car that he owned. He bought it new right after getting out of Vietnam

This saved me on a couple of steep hills when the guy behind me would give me hardly any room.

Um, I tried that starting in neutral and it didn't get me as far as starting in 3rd...didn't stall though, I'll say that.

I will say that with all the manuals I've owned the Z's clutch was probably the most tricky to catch.

Actually I am just the opposite - I think the Z is one of the easiest. Assuming the tranny is in 1st, lol.

When I got my car the dealer tried to reverse in 6th because he didn't know to push down to get it in reverse. Neither did I. So the next day I did the same thing and stalled for the first time! DANG! I learned quick tho haha.

tomorrow will be exactly 2 weeks since I've gotten the car and I've already noticed how much more confident I am and how much better of a driver I am. Can't remember the last time I stalled it, yet the first week or so I was stalling it like once or twice a day. Haven't started in third since last week. definitely getting the hang of the stick shift more now.

Foot on clutch, stick in neutral, hand brake already on, turn key to start. Been doing it like this for many moons...
