Hope you are factoring in the extremely high maintenance costs on that GT-R. Best friend just dropped $2600 on a set of four tires balanced and mounted - he got around 13,000 miles out of them and does not drive it that hard - he has 3 Z cars to do that in. Every service it requires from Nissan is priced out of sight too. Just a thought....
As far as the Z sale, takes the right buyer for all those mods. I don't think your price is too far out of line but you may wait for a buyer for quite a while unless you go back to stock. Mods never pay, we do them strictly for our own personal satisfaction. And I don't think you would ever recoup the cost of paint. IMHO only of course.

I agree your best bet is to sell the mods and revert back to stock. Otherwise, $11,000 IMO. Nobody cares that you've poured 4-6k in mods when it comes to buying a used car. That's not their expense. That's why it's so hard to sell a car that has been modified - plus, you never know what kind of abuse the car has taken when buying it modded. I mean, it's safe to assume that someone who is looking at a modded car will say "that person modded his car. He probably likes to _____ (insert race, redline, drift, whatever the hell you can come up with)".

Most people like to buy cars that have not been tampered with. So $11,000 is my estimate as is. Revert it to stock, you can easily get 10k, a willing buyer, and sell those mods and earn yourself another hefty amount. GLWS!

Considering your area, Id say de-mod and sell for around 11-12K and also although 80-100k doesnt put you into "GTR money" for most, you are living in GA where there is an abundance of cheap brand new homes in tons of developments for prices as low as 100k, Ive looked for investment purposes as the GF lives in GA. So with your income you can easily attain GTR status.. Congrats and G/L

I love how people react when someone says anything about maybe getting a GT-R lol, Sure i could go with a Supra or a R33 GTR for around $35K. Which is also a possibility due to the fact that they are cheaper. Im not too huge of a fan of the R35 due to the fact it is paddle shift, im more of a good old stick shifting kinda guy. I even thought about a Rb30 swap into the Z or do the VR38 swap into the z with a 6 speed trans swap, which is not impossible and can be done for under $30k. U can find a VR38 for around $9k to $12k when one comes up for sale, which lethal injection in Alpharetta, GA is on stand by to do my swap if i so choose to be the 1st one to do it. in fact, their is a Vr38 on Ebay right now up for sale.

and BTW "J 0 K 3 R" iam no poser or loser, nor am i 30. Im just about to turn 25 and as u can see in the pics, i dont live in a cheap house with "low payments" my G/F makes good money as well. Yea i could get fired but i dont plan on making payments on the car anyways. I plan on paying cash for whatever car i choose to buy. Between my new job, girlfriends income and whatever i get out of the Z. I dont see paying cash being a problem. Sure in might take 6 to 12 months but all i got is time
if only i lived closer lol id go and get that beauty off your hands.nismo r-tune is the best choice for our cars.goodluck with your sale. and i would say around 13k as is it looks like its been well taken care of

Just a question... Why would you ever spend more than half your yearly income on a car?

Plus.. just asking / offering advice. Why don't you take that money and put it into rental properties? Or an investment of some sort. If you're 25 years old think about what the 60k will be worth when your 60.

Run the Z into the ground. Its paid for.

its really easy for people to throw a number or value out when theyre not actually buying. Do a quick local search for z's and see what theyre asking.

I know personally, I'm interested in buying another z, I love the look and mods, but I wouldnt pay over $10k. Call me cheap, but I can get a stock z with half the miles for $11k-13k

Thanks wildcat. I do love everything about the Nismo R-Tune. Its not a 400hp turbo Z but i love it because its fun to drive and sounds great without that ricer fartcan sound and handles on the track like a dream, my 2003 Evo VIII didnt handle this good.

This is a good question and one i have thought about for a while and one iam still considering, but with this job i really dont have time for that at. I plan on at least having $50k in a CD in the next 18 months + pay off all my credit cards and open loans. So im not just going to make all this money and blow it all on a car. That wouldnt be smart. Iam going to hold on to the Z for at least another 2 months and if i choose to sell her i have a spare car thats paid for that i can drive. I just dont see any point in holding on to the Z when the value on the car will keep on dropping every year and i wouldnt have time to drive it while i will be working out of town.

What did you think about the GT-R over the Z? worth $60k? I myself have never rode in or drove one. Ive seen one at the local Nissan dealer but they act like its a "deadly airborne diseases" and wont let you within 20ft of the SOB, they said it was just bought by a celebrity in california so thats probobly why . So the closest ive been to a GT-R is one that was at a local restrant and iam quite impressed with the looks of it, but i do think a test drive is in order before i can even make up my mind. I just dont know how i will like the "Paddle shifting".

Thank goodness finally someone understands where im coming from, quite literally. If i was living in California or somewhere where "cost of living" was outrageous, then yes, i wouldnt make the clame i could afford a GT-R by no means, but fact is $80k to $100k a year, around here, can get you a very nice house, land, and car.

Video as requested lol, sorry, not the best quality in the world and yes i know, i do need a set of spacers in the front and in the back oh and this is still the stock cats, i was thinking about going with a set of Megan Racing Downpipes to give it a even deeper tone.

To tell you the truth, no i have not. The idea of actually owning a GT-R has just became possible and i have not really had time to sit down and think about all the other things that come with owning a GT-R, insurance, maintenance, resale value, etc etc..... But it will all be one the table when it comes down to actually getting to the point where i have the money saved up to get whatever car i choose, but thanks for the heads up on that.

Are you talking about why it sits up alittle into the bumper? if so, its because of the stillen Y pipe, it has no flex section in it and made it move up some when i replaced the Nismo Y Pipe. Its really not that bad but it does get on my nerves alittle lol. If i get the magen racing test pipes with flex section that will fix the problem

Easiest way to determine the price of your car is to actually have a thread in the marketplace and see what offers you are given.

They're completely different cars. The Z is much more raw and the stick-shift action is quite fun. The GTR isn't as fun in town going 30-40 mph. It feels like it wants to go 100, and you're holding it back. Also it's much bigger than the Z and has much more toys in it (NAV, sat radio, bluetooth, heated seats, etc). The GTR is more fun on the highway and feels more comfortable. It's also much, much faster in a straightline. 2nd gear will take your breath away. The suspension is also harsher than the Z suspension. But the GTR is tighter and more confidence inspiring on turns even though it weighs a lot more.

The paddle shift isn't as fun as the stick-shift, though. Find a dealer that will let you test drive it hard, and on a local road or highway!

imho I think you should strip down the Z sell it for 9000-10000ish and part out the mods for extra cash. I know i will help you clean up all that extra parts you dont need. :P

As far as GTR im not so favorable about your choice. If i were you I'd buy a rinky dink car that's good on gas and save up. Even then I wouldn't buy a GTR more like a used NSX. So therefore I will have money left over, a get around town car and a sexy car that I will baby.

just my 2 cents.

Yea i know, i just wanted to just get a general idea of what i was looking at. I think $13,200 with all mods or $11,500 stock is what i will be asking if everything goes they way i plan. I just hate to take the headers, cams, all the exhaust etc etc off...It will be a PITA! but moneys money lol

I love the NSX! I seen a few at my local Auto X meet and they are sexy! so many ideas to choose from lol. I will let u and everyone else know if i will part it out when the time comes, just dont want to have to deal with pulling everything off the car and putting it back to stock, but i will do whatever get me the most money. I work to hard just to throw it all away. Im sure i could get around $2,500+ just out of the mods i have
