Invest in suspension components OTHER than coil overs. Ajustable upper control arms, rear camber arms, toe bolts, maybe some bushings if you need them. Get the suspension ready ahead of time for coilovers, wheels and a drop. Most people get coilovers first and don't think of the other things needed when you drop a car then ***** when their tires are wearing uneven and/or their bushings go out.
That or buy some stickers and fuzzy dice and put the rest in an emergency maintenance fund.

just cause you have coilovers doesnt mean that your alignment cant be set to "spec"...if your THAT worried about alignment specs than adjust your coilovers so that your not that low...simple as that...
You should be able to lower the Z about an ~inch or so all the way around and still retain stock alignment specs....
Regardless, you can run quite a bit of camber before you start getting un-even tire wear...99% of excessive wear is as a result of toe being off, and that can be fixed for less than 100 bucks if you buy toe bolts (provided that your that low to begin with)...
Just because he "should" stay in spec with a 1" drop doesn't mean he will. I thought the same thing and then found out the hard way that "should" doesn't always translate to "will". Sooner or later, you change one thing on the Z suspension, you wind up having to change three more things to compensate.
In that case he should just get springs and forget about it.

This makes no sense...

Ended up doing an additional $500 for my next car payment so $700 this month total. Then new rear tires in preparation for the winter. And a little bit of money to fix some odds and ends that needed some love.
Hope the 350Z community will respect my decision. If not oh well :P

I agree though, but not everyone can afford to buy coilovers, front upper arms, rear camber arms and toe bolts, sway bar endlinks, bla bla bla all at once. Which in that case there is nothing wrong with buying coilovers and doing a moderate drop...then if you want save up for the rest in preparation for what your "goal" is with the car. IMHO coilovers take up the cake as far as the bigger ticket item, hence why i voted coilovers...then again to each their own...
I know this topic has been beaten to deafff enough to realize its more of a personal preference!
Thanks
lol i did that on purpose!

OP: Good choice! Im sure thats a way more responsible decision than what 90% of people would have picked lol...and that includes me!
You already have nice exhaust, mind as well take full advantage of it and get osiris. Before I got osiris my A/F ratio was all over the place and my HP/TQ curves were all but smooth, now A/F is spot on and hp curve is where it is supposed to be. I do not have a copy of my chart on this computer, otherwise I would post it.
Good luck with your choice!
