Default Newb

I am looking to buy a Z when spring comes around due to living in Ohio. I have heard about problems with the 03 to 05 or 06 model with transmission grinding, window motors and consuming too much oil, so I should look more into the 07 and 08 model. If anyone could give me more info that would be great. I also am about 6'2 and was wondering if you think I would have problems fitting in a Z. I am looking to spend about 15k at most and hopefully have around 50k or less miles on it. Thanks for the info.

Hello and welcom first off.

Ok now to be a di*k lol. Go to this link https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-n...-shopping.html as I went through this headache awhile back but will give you the arguments between the models. Also good luck with getting 07+ w/50k or less. I got my 07 w/86k miles for 11.8 and to be honest thats not usually normal as they run at a good price $14K-$17K and for the miles you want you can expect to pay the higher tag.

Hope this helps on your journey and as for your hight, you will be fine. Its the getting in and out that are the pain hahaha.

Default 6'2"

I am also 6'2" and my Z is a bit short on leg room, head room is fine.
The pad on the center console helps when your leg rests on it.

I'm just 3 months into my 350Z so cant say much about "transmission grinding, window motors and consuming too much oil"

So far so good!

I did sit in a new Camry which had alot of leg room and head room, I was
amazed. However when I test drove the Z, performance and handling made the choice easy.

Whenever I see an elderly couple driving a Camry I say to myself "dodged that bullet".

Good Luck

I'm 6'1 with a long torso so head room for me is a bit tight but it's better than my MX-5! Also, I just bought an '07 with 36k miles for about $19k.

To be honest I followed your thread for a little while before I decided to create an account on here haha

I am mostly concerned about reliability. If I can find an earlier model with low miles that is in good shape I have no problem doing that. I have just heard the later model has less problems with it.

Also how is the paint on the Z? I haven't really heard much about, but I own a 2010 civic and I hate the paint. I am very particular when it comes to paint.

I'm 6'4 and I have no problem fitting in the Z granted the seat is positioned all the way back. The only hard part is getting low enough to get into the car.

I attend Wright State right now and 15k is the absolute most I can do. Rather keep it around 13k. Was yours the black one with the w7 in it? And I'm waiting till spring to get one since it will be my DD unless an absolute deal comes around.

I owned a bagged s10 almost 2 years ago, so getting low enough to get in wouldn't be a problem haha

Ah gotcha, 15k is as low as I would have gone. It was black, but had 2 10in W3V3's in it

haha! small world man, yeah that's the beast and thanks! It's paid for and a diesel so I figure I'll keep it a long time. It towed most of my stuff and the Z on the trailer all the way to Texas like a boss. Best of luck with your hunt man
