Its getting to that time when I have to store my Z for the winter. Being that North East Ohio gets hit hard by lake effect snow and the salt is atrocious!
It has me thinking, and here is my predicament... I go off to college next year and I'm looking at a few different schools, however my top choice don't allow freshmen/sophomores to have cars and when your a junior/senior you don't even really need a car. So my question to you guys is should I keep the Z and have it stored and only drive it in the summers when I'm off school for 4 years possibly 5 or even 6?
Or would I be better off trying to sell it near the end of this next summer then buy a different Z or maybe even upgrade to a better car when I'm outta college? The benefits I see of this is that I don't have to worry about storing it, insurance on the beater car I get for the summers won't be nearly as much, and I don't have to worry about the value depreciating over the years I'm at school?

If you drive-store-drive-store a vehicle, you will probably insure the vehicle year round. Your insurance company will not go for start-stop-start-stop policies.
What you have is a vehicle that will be driven, say, less than 5,000 miles year. Contact your insurance company and see if they will give you a special rate.

+1 to the sell it and buy again later crowd. Money in bank appreciates, car in garage depreciates. If you aren't getting to enjoy it compared to the lost value and opportunity cost, it's a no brainer.
