Default My 350Z has made me a better driver

Hi guys. I realize its late but I had a little epiphany while driving home tonight. Please don't flame me because I realize that some of these "choices" will be viewed by some as idiotic or stupid but the main reason for this post is how one can mature as a driver. I live in Connecticut and don't have a second car so the Z is my dd. Due to unforeseen circumstances I haven't been able to put snow tires on my Z so I've had to deal with the stock tires that were on the car when I bought it thus I'm driving on summer tires with some random bald front driverside tire. Anywho, I was extremely nervous when I purchased the Z about the winter here in CT because of the previous winter in New England, those that live up here know and maybe some of you heard on the news last year, but we got socked! But last year really wasn't a problem for me because I was driving an 04 Subaru WRX and winter for that car is a playground. About 4 months ago I was driving home, really pushing the WRX and spun it unfortunately and the car got totaled. After that it was a scramble to get a new car so I test drove a few with the primary attribute being that it must have AWD. At a used car dealer I tested a few AWD cars but saw an 08 Z sitting on the lot and test drove it. It was love at first drive and I had to have that car. I new it was going to be a handful in the snow and that it was prob not the best decision in my life but who can describe ones attachment to a car. The other part to it was that to drive a car as pure as a Z, with enough time behind the wheel it WILL make you a better driver. Well gents, and ladies, I feel that this car has done just that. About 4 hours ago CT got hit again by snow, unfortunately I was out and about with friends and so had to drive back home in the **** weather. Being cautious about where to put throttle down and using the engine to brake while maintaining a speed so that I would not get stuck on hills opened my eyes to something I didn't understand in the WRX. That realization was...I had no idea WHAT I was doing in the WRX. The AWD system, while nice and safe makes you take everything for granted, doesn't make you think. It's also been the same in rainy weather with the Z, making me think, look ahead, making sure that the road surface is optimal to put any sort of power down. This has excited me because I can see myself mature as a driver and I hope that these lessons that I learn in the snow and rain can be put to good use on the track this spring/summer and I'm hopping to get to Lime Rock at some point.

This logic is fawking stupid. What a gay a$$ story/experience, buys a Z cant even put decent tires on it, you are poor, and again stupid for even sharing that with us.

I would at least hope the OP is a young guy because frankly you sound dumb as fawk and speak about life as if you know whats up but you dont know $hit about fawk.

Id rather see you deal with the comments that come with sharing the fact you're an a$$hole (admitting he drives like a d!ck in the snow = totalled car, admitting he bought the wrong car, doesnt have snow tires, has one mismtached tire) and slightly slow in the brain.

I never stated that I was the best driver on the face of the planet. And sure doesn't everyone on this site like speed at some point in their lives? Otherwise why would we have bought 350z's or street bikes. Its not to just look good but because they can go fast. I understand why your all pissed at me. And no it definitely didn't look as good after that but thanks for liking the rex lol.

So, you totaled an AWD WRX and now you're driving a Z with RWD...in Connecticut....with bald tires? Good luck buddy.

I actually do like that WRX, for some reason always loved the wagons.

I have NEVER broken the speed limit in my Z. You need to control yourself son.

Nobody is p!ssed at you.
