Default Your opinions please

Since my search hasn't exactly yielded the results I want I decided to post this here. I have a redline red z (Im sure the name didn't give it away). I am thinking about going some cosmetic mods to it first, such as:
Carbon fiber hood
Carbon fiber lip
Possibly challange rims from volk, and a slight drop.

Now, heres where I want your opinion. Do you think a carbon fiber hood looks bad with a red car? If I were to get the challange rims, should I get the silvers, or powercoat them to gunmetal? I probably would have to use stock rims until spring, so do you think that the carbon fiber hood would look grossly out of place? Thanks for your opinions and knowledge. And merry Christmas Eve!

Maybe this will help

I think it looks pretty good on red, and I'm not a huge fan of CF (if I ever do get any, I'll have it painted)

Good luck.

Just know that our hoods are already aluminum, and therefor pretty light. You're not going to get much weight savings from a CF hood, so if you do it, it's purely cosmetic.

I wouldn't do it, but that's just my personal opinion.

OK...I thought I was the only one who thinks the CF craze is getting out of hand...although CF hood painted to match body color with old school 'SS' stripes revealing CF would be ok?? cooler than cool or ice cold???

I feel ya! But Ice cold is cooler than cool? I've thought about stripes like that before, I think it would look ok but better if the stripes continued across the car. I can't wait for my custom plates (HEY YA or ICE CLD). Yeah I'm an Outkast freak.

BTW, I don't remember where I read it but someone said our aluminum conducts heat better than CF so it keeps the engine cooler...or something.

hey, being ice cold is cooler than being cool

and if you do the cf hood, i say paint it. but leave a small "z" unpainted down by the front right or left corner of the hood. (near the headlight)

i'm all about stock look. helps ya sneak up on em

Does anybody know the weight differential between a painted CF hood and the stock one?

I guess thanks for the advice... If I got any out of it. If you paint the cf hood its going to weigh the same... CF is only about a pound lighter than stock.

For Z, I'd rather save that money for the CF hood on something else, since it's not going to help much anywayz...
