Default It's too loud in my Z.

As this in my second 350z I know one of my gripes about the car is how loud it is while driving the car. It's just too loud. A lot of road noise comes into the car and that to me is the sign of a cheap car. I was wondering if anyone has taken substantial methods to quiet our babies down. I have been looking at this website and I am thinking it will probably be about $500 to add Damplifier Pro and Overkill Pro. I am also thinking about adding Hood Kit.

My ultimate goal for the car is to have a Z which should have originally came from Nissan. That's a super quiet coupe that makes about 300whp and has a much nicer interior.

This can be an issue and varies depending on the tire.

turn the radio up higher.
I just picked up a 03 touring with cheap no name M&S tires on it and the tire noise is loud too. Thankfully I'm used to it with my last 03 Enth. so it doesn't bother me as much.

Default Fantasy

Well this is definitely not a fantasy thread, it's a plan of something that will happen. A $1,000 isn't that bad for adding class and refinement to any car.

I also realize that this is a sports car, but that doesn't mean it has to be loud with a lot of driving noise. Just a minor gripe I plan to fix. I will post before and after decibal levels to confirm success.

Answer the tire question... I'm switching out my tires this week due to loud Falken FK 452 tires. As a tire wears it gets louder.

Any hatchback is going to be noisier unless you dampen the sound. If it means that much to you, spend the grand. And as already said, tire noise has a lot to do with it.....

+3 on the tires could be the issue. Try some Kumho ASX all season tires if you want a quieter ride.

as if it adds any more credence to the claims by adding my comments...its true that its 80% tire noise.

I am also adding a touch of grey mat in the hatch behind the panels.. but by no w means will it change it 180 degrees. Its still going to stay loud.. and its also a question of the alignment settings of the car as well.
Hankooks are nice n quiet on my buddys 911.. try them.
