I'm pretty sure there will be a new thread shortly about a totaled Z in the next snowstorm. RIP GJL44's 350Z

He'll be able to add another wrecked car to the list of poorly thought out choices.

I hate WRX drivers. They're all Ken Block wannabes that think the thing is invincible then they total the thing like you did.

Agree that the Z requires more "skill" but so does every other FR car that's frisky and wants to let the rear loose. Take it from me: do NOT drive the Z in very poor conditions without snow tires. Do not even think to drive in even half an inch of snow with summer tires. If you value your car you wouldn't take that chance... Even rain is dangerous in bald summer tires (ask me how I know...)

Oh well, live and learn. Total a car, move to another one, worst you'll get is butthurt from the internets and your wallet crying. Nothing will teach you how dangerous the roads can be until you f*** something up and end up paying for it.

Glad your still alive, but still even though the subie has 4wd doesn't mean it will get you out of a sticky situation. As a friend, I would not advise you to take the TCS off at all until you've gotten the hang of driving the car and be wise with your decision making and be AWARE of other motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists around you. You were lucky you didn't jeopardize someone's else's life when that situation occurred. Listen to Alberto, he knows what he's talking about. I agree with him also to change the tires because even people here, who have experienced heavy rain or even in inclement weather with summer tires happened to spin out for some reason. It's not safe because you never know when the tire will just slip out on you. Good luck and be safe.

Lol. I can relate, but i wouldnt say it makes me a better driver. I think hours spent on the road driving properly make people better drivers.

Better yet, take a HPDE driving course and go to the track will help a lot more than street driving.
