Default Bose - It's not that bad

Got my Z last night...and IT ROCKS *METAL SIGN* hehe

Lots of impressions...but i guess I'll discuss the number one thing that sticks out in my mind in reference to current discussions on the board.

I honestly don't think the BOSE system is that bad. I do consider myself quite the car audio enthusiast...and had a killer custom SQ system in my last car. And yes...this system isn't an aftermarket system...but in my opinion it's better than most factory systems out there. It's definately coming out...and i'm replacing it with some high end gear.....but I think it's a nice FACTORY system. It's much more than I ever expected.

Bose CD's sound pretty good - the radio is lousy no matter where I set it.

Congratulations on your new arrival!

Thanks for the Bose update. I was hoping it was better than my current stock system. (It sounds good, but can be MUCH better)

BILL T, thanks for the comment regarding radio versus CD. I never listen to radio, so this is good new to me!

I picked up my car this past Saturday ( yippee!!!! ) from Dan Z at Smithtown Nissan. Absolutely love everything about the car and can say only good things about Dan. My only negative remark on the survey will be about the Bose system. The system is not up to par when the radio is played (too much bass), while on the other hand....the system sounds great when CD's are played.

The auto volume is annoying in just about every car I've been in....it was a neat feature for about 2 weeks when I first heard it. But when the newness wore off.....

I hope you are right about the bose...I can't see bose sending out that crappy of a system

I don't get it, why are people getting the Bose and then taking it out for aftermarket system, that means that they paid about 2400 for the leather seats if they got AT (difference between Enthusiast and Touring) or even worse about 2750 if they got MT (difference between Performance and Touring with MT). I would have gone with Enthusiast or Performance and used that 2400-2750 for a kick *** aftermarket system, I personally skipped the Touring because it had leather, it is too hot.

The leather is actually cooler than the leather was in my Altima. No *** burns so far (except from the seat warmers), I think all the heat is absorbed by the shifter ****

The bose audio quality isn't so much the issue (though it's not stellar), it's the random volume adjustments and uncontrollable, inconsistent subwoofer.

Andrew,

Congrat. on getting your Z. Seem like NOT everyone have the 2 Bose problems. You are the lucky one. I hope once the one with problems got fix, it will sound good just like you said. I am expecting it because the Bose is part of the $2750 price delta I paid for the Touring 6MT model.

I thought it was just me, the shifter **** feels really hot sometimes.

We missed you Sunday, we are thinking about Tower Shops on Friday, do you know about it?

congratulations.

Please keep us informed as to your stereo upgrade. How much is it going to set you back?

Where are you going to put the sub (subs)?

Nice, very close to what I'm gonna get. Getting Dynaudio 240 mkII's for the fronts but otherwise the setup's more or less identical.

So are you installing the Alpine in the NAV compartment?

And where did you find a W7 for $400??

Not sure exactly install locations...i'm gonna break out equipment and start seeing what might fit where...what i'm set on for now is putting an AMP rack behind the passenger seat were the Factory Sub is.... should be steath....and a good use of empty space...

I got the W7 on Ebay.

the MBQuarts and all the JL stuff came off of Ebay...

those QSD's retail for $1499...i've seen them listed several times on ebay for under $600..

Car Audio is marked up at least 100% when sold at retail.

Default Now Even Bose is Doing It??

So the head unit is made by Clarion. OK, then why is Bose putting their name all over the head unit. Maybe to make us think that we're getting Bose (questionable) quality sound? Yea sure!!
