I got my blank check from Capital One (peoplefirst.com) within a few days of filling out the online application. They were quick and courteous. I ended up not using the blank check because I was able to negotiate a better rate with my dealer. You can choose to either let the blank check expire or call to tell them you wont be using it. Also, if you are a Costco member and plan to use Capital One, apply through the Costco website for an even lower rate.

Whether its Capital One or your credit union, make sure to have financing lined up before you pick up your car. It will put you in a much better position to negotiate interest rates with the dealer.
