Yeah, I haven't seen any base models in NJ either. I do know very few people ordered the base model: it was something like 5% of the pre-orders?

 

I believe the Base was the least ordered model and following the "theory" (one of a few) that Nissan built and delivered the "first" cars by order of popularity appears to have proven somewhat true. Recently (last Friday) I noticed some Base models at a couple of dealer inventories here in the Boston area in the last few days with low VIN#s (116 and 174) which kind of goes against the above theory. I ordered a Base model on January 19 and am being told it should be here by the end of the month (previously told it would arrive on 9/2). Someone else ordered a Base model in May at the same dealership and received theirs on Monday. That kind of sucks.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, I did tell the salesman "Take off every Zig" when I was preordering my car and he said "You know what you doing?". At that point I demanded him to "Move Zig!". I guess that's how I ended up with the Base...
