If you're facing uphill, you put the car in 1st gear so it doesn't roll back. If you're facing downhill you put the car in reverse so it doesn't roll forward.
Hoping username is relavent to comment...

you can't take the keys out in an automatic without putting in park first...

I have personally been sitting in my car with it in reverse and the engine off and had it roll backwards.. if theres much incline gravity will take over and roll it backwards even if its in reverse.

This does remind me of Ferris Bueller's Day Off haha. Glad that the car didn't have too much damage overall. Might want to check to make sure the wheels weren't bent or cracked in the process of hopping over that curb though!

I was actually home when it happened, I heard a crash and looked outside to see my car across the street. I think I did a triple take out of the blinds.

Got the car into the shop today though, should have an estimate later today or tomorrow.

Car came with the billet grill and it actually looks better than the stock piece there in my opinion, won't replace it until I get a shine n-2 bumper, which may or may not come with this repair.

Hopefully the wheels come out alright as they are discontinued.

Really? How about using the parking brake, combine that with pulling it in gear. The car may not roll.

going to talk to them, I'm not sure if the front bumper will be included in the estimate or not, it really didn't take much damage but I did hit an armadillo and it spidered some paint so I am hoping they put it in the estimate.

Buuuuuut the Z Fest is in 2 weeks, I won't be able to order a shine bumper and have it there/painted/put on in that time, so unfortunately I may have to do this at a later date.

I would rather fix this and still have a manual than to drive an automatic sports car of this caliber, now if it was a higher end car then maybe I wouldn't care.

Hate to admit it but this happen to me as well.........If memory serves, this happened to me and the Zee within the first couple weeks of ownership. Apparently, my garage flloor isn't even, it has a slight downward slope. Anyway, after getting out of the car in the garage, I obvously had it in neutral and did not place parking brake on. I closed the car door, walked towards door to enter the house and pushed garage door opener to close door. When I went back in the garage a few minutes later, my car was not in its parking place in the garage, the garage door was open and my car was across the street with its *** end up on the curb and my neighbors lawn. Apparently, before the garage door was fully closed, the Zee rolled back hit the door, door went back up and Zee rolled down my driveway and across the street to my neighbors yard. Luckily, no cars, or kids were coming down the street as the Zee went across. This could have been horrible. The only damage was scratches on the rear bumper from hitting the inside of the garage door and a small dent in the muffler when it hit the curb. Obviously the man upstairs was watching over me, can you imagine if a car had been coming towards the Zee or a kid was crossing at that time. So obviously I place in gear when parked and parking brake on ! ! !
