Default Where to place the jack undere the car?

I have a new hydraulic car-jack to help me speed up changing of all 4 wheels (ie. changing from/to my set of wheels/tyres for track work). This is not the same car jack that comes with the car (ie. 350Z) so I am wondering if anyone know (or has experience) with jacking the car up with a different car-jack? I am wondering where I can place the car jack under the car in order to lift the car and not damage anything. That is for the front as well as back wheels.

Any input/help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm sure someone will post the diagram, but in the rear, you jack it up by the differential. In the front, you use the center of the front subframe. The front is hard to reach without a very low profile jack. Driving up on some wood helps alot

Sorry for jacking the thread, but I have a similar question. Ummm...where are U supposed to place the jackstands on this car. I have a hard time trusting those hydraulic jacks when I'm under the car.

Use the factory jack points. They are about 18" inward from the tires. You'll see a couple indentations. Check the owner's manual.

Thanks guys, I'll take a look as suggested.

Use the factory jack points

I am affraid to use those as they are on the vertical lip at the bottom which is designed for the 350Z's jack to fit around it (and rest on the body around it). If I put my hydraulic jack there then it will try and lift it by the actual 'lip' there as it does not have the fitting to go around it like the Nissan jack.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo. My response was for Donald0370 when using jack stands!

For the hydraulic jack, see 350Zteve's post! He is correct.
I haven't done it from the front since my jack doesn't fit but I'll probably try using the 2x4s to make room next time. For the rear you should be able to easily get under there and align under the rear diff. Works great. Of course you shouldn't work under your car using the hydraulic jack - buy jack stands! $15 from Pepboys or whatever.
