Why is the 350z becoming a civic, rather than a Supra?

we all got lucky that this car doesnt suck, otherwise it was a poser car to begin with lol. I snatched it up new at 37k.. now kids buy it for 12k.. was never that much in the first place. but still..
At least the 370 stepped it up a bit.. but then, well.. none of us really loved that car.. not enough to trade in/up.
Unless you own a Porsche 9XX, thers no reason to status chase w our cars I say.. but, theres still alot to be said for a car thats done right w quality parts.
And theres also as much to be said for MANGO!!

I don't think the 350z is following the footsteps of the Civic. Why it is true that there are many riced Zs in and around Atlanta, there are just as many stock Zs driven by mature owners. The Georgia Z Club has a couple of 240Zs all the way up to the 370Zs. Some most stock, while others are tastefully modified and driven by mature owners.
I only drive my Roadster primarily on the weekends to limit it's exposure. It is refreshing to get positive compliments about the mods visuals mods that I have added. Performance wise, my Roadster is purely stock and I plan to keep it that way. Investing in any performance goodies would be a waste of money for me since I do not drive it aggressively. I cherish my 350z Roadster and hope to keep it around for a long time to help keep the legacy of a reliable and affordable sports car intact. Long live the 350z. I hope to own a 90's N/A 300ZX 2+2 one day. That was one of my dream car when I was in my early 20's.

A bit off topic, but why do you think the Z lost its value so much compared to other vehicles? For example, if you compare an 07 350z and and 07 subaru STI both with approx 25k miles for sale. GUARANTEED(unless its a nismo) the subaru will be more costly even though the Z i believe is more costly when brand new. Maybe too many made?

Ultimately as the others have pointed out, it's produced in fairly high numbers, the same as the 240z and the Z32. Models in between not quite so much.

I was really disappointed to see a 2008 350Z Roadster with automatic and navigation and only 31K miles at the local dealership for only $22,500. That seems really low.
The AutoCheck indicates it's a one owner with no bad history, but it's been auctioned twice in the last six months.
I'm glad I only paid $27K for my new '08 touring coupe in July '09.

Regardless of ricers nice builds are going to happen! I actually welcome the depreciation now...somewhat

I have wanted a Z since I started loving cars. In Cuba my dad had a ford falcon that was awesome when we had the gas $ to drive it. I grew up playing GT and it fueled my <3 for supras and Rx7s. I saw a huge spike in rice when F&F was released.
I think if you keep your Z in good condition, take care of the paint, interior and motor, in 10 years the 350 will be a "rare" car, prob will never reach supra level but you never know. I am never selling the Z, I love my car even when 17 year old deuches rev at me at the red light.
When they crash (and they will) it will be one less Riced out Z on the road.
