Resale Value
Anybody know why the 350z's seem to have gone down in resale value? (Other than the economy and $4.00/gal gas). Was looking to maybe sell my '08 and go to a 370.
wait till spring / summer to sell a sports car and then wait to winter to buy it common knowledge. also as things age value goes down
Yeah, the Z's have depreciated highly at least over here in Houston. I bought my Z in December of 2010. Back then you couldn't find an 03 with 100,000 miles for less than 10 or 11K. I looked at KBB and then value had gone down to 7,500ish. In 2 years the value went to ****. It's unreal. My engine turned out to be burning oil so I sold it yesterday for 5,000. It's such a hard concept believing that a 350z that I bought for 11,900 after financing ended up being sold for 5k. Hell even if the engine would've been good I still would've ended up losing 2-4k on it regardless. When I was first looking for Z's, the 07-08's were 24-28k. Now I see them going from 14K and up. It's unreal. Even the high mileage G's somehow retain their value though. I see them everywhere with close to 100k if not more mileage for 9k the cheapest and most are listed at 12-14k, that's the 03's of course.

Another 2 years and it will be sold at 5k? I find it amazing since cars like the 240sx still sells for 2-5k and some are almost 20 years old

Bought my 06 Base with 88k miles for 15k flat from the dealership I work for about 5 months ago. 5 months ago that price was exaclty what is was worth, and since then it has dropped almost 2k!

It already had Tein springs which was nice. They really didnt do too much for me price wise, but I was upside down is a Chevy Cruze

So to hook an employee up, they gave me 3k more than what is was worth, So I was able to pay it off and send 200 bucks more to the down payment.

Best choice I ever made.
It's expected to drop around this time of year. RWD and sports cars are very price sensitive. I didn't buy my Z and worry about resale value. I will keep it forever and drive it into the ground.
Bought my 04' Touring 6sp almost 2 years ago with 50K miles from a dealer, put 8K miles on it and sold it last week for a grand more than I bought it for. Sold in just over a week.
You just need to have the exact car someone is looking for and live in their area.

Its supply&demand.Depending where you live, the prices on a Z will fluctuate.
Also, the time of the year is a factor. As already mentioned,a close to stock Z
will have a better chance of selling vs a modded out one.

Are you buying used? If you can get a 370 for a little cheaper, it might be worth selling yours a little cheaper too. Plus you would pay a little less on tax. Might as well upgrade while everything's cheaper.
350z does have horrible resale value. if i would of just waited a year or two after buying mine, i would of saved about 8-10k. its rediculous. there is a lot of 350zs sold in the US making them very easy to buy. 300zx prices are almost the same as Zs now.
Z33 is the new S13, Period. There were a lot of them made, they are not "rare" or "special"
The only ones that seem to be holding value are the Koukis (07/08) and Nismos. I predict the Z34 will be the new S14.
If you think the value has dropped NOW, Wait till the Z35 is released lol - I bought my car knowing full and well it was gonna be "240 Status" by the time I paid it off. That's why I wanted an 07/08 in a rare color lol
