If a girl wants to drive a manual, that's great. Just be careful you don't crash into the fridge or the stove.

It isnt even about being a girl driving a Z or a girl driving a manual car. Women who take interest in their cars at all get a thumb up, even more if its a nice car, and more than that if they took the time to learn a manual and do so in their own personal cars. I am a bmw enthusiast (i know, the old stuff, not this E92 douchebagery) and on the E34 forum, a young woman posted asking about her 1994 540i that she acquired in a divorce. We walked her through the symptoms and problems and, turning her own wrench where she could and taking it to a mech prepared with information when she couldn't, got the car back to tip top shape and she still posts to check in and contribute.

THAT's an impressive girl; a V8 5 series that she works on and cares for.

@1LightBrick,

Bless you all at the BMW forum.

My Dad wanted a boy when I was born. I think he wanted a boy so he could share his love for cars with him. As I grew up, and when I needed help with schoolwork, I would approach my father, always sitting in his recliner with all the Motor Trend books, and magazines surrounding him. Whatever I needed help with always turned into things he could relate to....Cars, CARS, cArS, and more cars. He couldn't afford to help me with college so he gave me a car instead. It was shaved/ported/polished/hedmanheadered/tractionmastered/& built for track. It even had stainless steel mufflers that "he" made himself. The car was stick. It could easily do "wheelies" even though, before he gave it to me he did something to it in order to cut it's power.

I realized that I needed more in life, so at 17 I joined the Air Force. My mechanical score was so high that they sent me to school to became a Jet Fighter Technician. I was one of the very few women back then who actually stepped foot on a flightline.

4 years later I returned home. As a child I wanted to become an artist. I still pursued it when I returned from the Service. I was really good at it, but there was no money in it, so I pursued my next love, "architecture, and design". I studied every trade, and learned how to not only design, and draw, but to be able to build. I started my own design business, helping Architects, and Engineers to create many homes, and buildings.

I remember a few years ago when I first bought my Z, when I became a casual member of an exotic car restoration website. The site was owned by a girl in her twenties who, along with her father, owned & operated such a business. She enjoyed getting her hands dirty, and loved her work. She also could have entered & won most any beauty contest...but that is not what she wanted. She grew up not only in body, and in heart, and in mind.

MY350Z.com has a lot of members. Once in awhile I encounter someone as you, who has enough respect for themselves to be able to know how to treat others who deserve the same.

Every time I read a MY350Z member's, or moderator's comment putting down women, or saying that women need to earn his respect, my only impression of that person is of a boy child, who has yet to be taught how to respect himself.

huggz,

June

When I see a Z, most of the time it is a girl driving, not sure what the big deal is. I see far fewer guys driving them than girls.

As a female Z owner, I have yet to see a woman that can drive a car to its fullest abilities much less a woman in a Z without scratches/dings/dents etc. I won't even let my gf drive my Z. With that, I typically assume that a woman in a sports is an accident waiting to happen, especially if the car was purchased for cool points.

oh hey, I'm also a girl & I drive a 350z...does she want a freakin cookie? This is why girls in the car scene aren't taken serious.

"I bought a 350z manual just because I feel that a girl having a manual 350z is cool . "

Really? Like how about you buy a car because you like it and have a brain and can decide things for yourself? Kill me.
