Oldest 350Z owner on the forum returns from the LA Auto Show
My 79 year old buddy and I returned from LA on Saturday the 8th. We drove to LA on the previous Thursday and made the mistake of arriving there in the early evening. We hit the traffic jam from hell that is innocently called the evening rush hour. It slowed us down for 45 minutes but my trusty gps got us to the hotel. On Friday we spent 4 hours at the show, which occupies 2 immense exhibition halls plus two smaller ones. Virtually all manufacturers were there with many different concept cars. Suprisingly missing were Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Meserati. I read this was for economic reasons (?). Our drive back to Tucson was much quicker. We made it in 6 1/2 hours and had the cruise control on 80 much of the time. There were areas in California where things opened up and I got the Z up to 90. At on point I was doing 96. I am very impressed by the road handling of the car. At 90 the ride was firm, the engine quiet, and handling very sure. Checked the gas mileage. Averaged 27.6 mpg. The whole trip made me love the Z even more. Gonna add some pics. Hope this works!

My wife and I went out to celebrate my 75th birthday at our favorite restaurant. This pic was taken then. Click image to enlarge it. I'm the one on the right.
Wow Bob your wife is a beautiful, youthful looking gal. How did an old geezer like you snag her! Just kidding you’re actually a beautiful, youthful looking geezer yourself. Wishing you many more great road trips in your Z.
I was at the auto show last week as well. I had to rush through the show since i arrived 1.5 hour before they close. I think this year's auto show was not too much of an excitement. There isn't too many new model cars coming out in 2013. Only car i looked at for almost 10 mins was the SLS black series.

The Acura NSX concept car that may make production in a few years had me drooling. Beautiful car.
