Yeah, I also leave mine in for daily and take it out for track. I'd rather have it with me than not, just in case.

For those who say the spare is too small or it won't fit, you can always find one that does. I hear the 370Z spare fits over many BBKs.

Yes, I also say better safe then sorry. Anyway with 500hp, and carbon fiber parts, I'm not worried about the weight part.

Those of you saying your car would drag on the spare... have you actually tried it? My '05 350Z came with a 145/90-16 spare, which is 26.3" in diameter. Stock front diameter is 26" and rear is 26.7". The spare is actually taller than the stock front and the front and rear tires I run on my aftermarket wheels.

I wouldn't doubt that it won't clear BBKs, or that getting a jack under a slammed car with a body kit wouldn't be tough. That said, my Z is 1.5" lower than stock with all stock bodywork, and the factory jack still works fine.

So yeah, my spare stays in the car. And when I go on long road trips, I pull out the compact spare and put one of the stock fullsize fronts in, which fits fine other than raising the trunk floor up a bit.

It also won't work w a bbk... so yeah..there's certainly reasons to ditch it that IMHO outweigh having one heavily.
This is why I bought a G37S spare to clear my Akebonos.

Still have the never used original spare taking up space in my garage.

tools, wheel, carpet is all out of my trunk. I took it out for a track day in September and never put it back in. It makes it easier to carry 4 rims/tires. I have roadside assistance too so it doesn't bother me.

It's in but I have gold AAA so I'll probably take it out to balance a small amount of the subwoofer, box and amp weight. But honestly I will forget and leave it in

I toss the 2 foam blocks back in, the spare, jack and carpet between events. Nothing else is back there, all rear plastic is removed.

Took mine out not for weight lost but because it won't fit over my brakes.

If I could take weight off the front I would do it but my roadster gets better traction with weight in the rear. I get less wheelspin when I have a full tank of gas. At lower speeds I can accelerate harder out of the turns. If my A/C ever fails I will remove the compressor and stuff to lighten the front.

I love how people said they took it out for weight savings but they have subs. That's like saying you put a carbon fiber lip to save weight, makes no sense.

Really?
So because I do feel music is a requirement. ( flat 13,also to save weight)....would it not make sense to balance your compromises in other areas by removing unnecessary items?

Cmon now lol... Ur looking at only parts of the argument.
Besides....
I think everyone here is bored and just like to post.. just to post ....I'm usually guilty as well.
Its funny what insight you gain when u stay off a computer for a week lol.
Were all grumpy here lol.

The thing I find funny is when I see morbidly obese people that do weight saving things to their cars, also when they drink diet cola with their ubersized McMeals.
