Default New Z. Love at First Sight.

Hello fellow Z-ers,

As of 12/25/2012 i became the proud owner of a 2003 350Z MT.
I loved it the minute the garage door opened and the alarm was blaring at me.

I have spent time driving her and getting a real feel for the clutch and rev matching etc.

I don't know what the previous owner did to it but I had a Kenwood Deck put in and a Tom-Tom Go-Live system integrated into the flip up compartment.
She has really stiff suspension, nothing too crazy but then again, i have never owned a car like this; coming from an 08 Audi A6.

So far everything is stock on the body and engine (to my knowledge and after inspection) but i have ideas.

Body (What I Want):
AMS-GT Body Kit
Volk TE37-SL Black Edition Rims.
Super Matte Black (Yes?/No?/Other Suggestions?)

Engine:
Waiting for summer to come along so that i can ran a few tests and dyno her.

Any suggestions would be great! I have gone through a whole bunch of forums and have decided this one seems the best!
Hope your holidays were wonderful and your New Years' better!
Take Care!

Hope i'm not being too impulsive and demanding here!

Thanks so much for everything and anything! You guys are awesome!

Welcome to the comunity!
I would be cautious in your selection of a body kit.Do your research
on your proposed selection. The kit you are looking at is pretty radical.
I would be concerned about fit&finish.Furthermore, for a kit odf this
style to look good, you will need to lower your car, have appropriate
wheels(The TE-37's are a great choice)and rubber.You'll need at least a
10.5" wheel in the rear with some sizeable tires.A wing to match(does
not come with the kit?)should be on your Z to complete the look.
You may want to shop around, look at other body kits.Possibly they
may not be as wild as this one but you'll be assured of a quality product.
Shine makes an excellent product.
Good luck!

I want to post a pic but she is sitting on winters, i feel like that is photo-taboo haha. Should i still post it? If so, i'll take it for a wash and put them up later today!
It's not a downgrade for me. I am a student and although luxury is beautiful and all, it's not a car a student can have fun with. My parents have always taught me responsibility and driving a car like that in University just calls too much attention. The Z combines simplicity with excitement and commodity (if you will call it that.)
I looked at a whole bunch of kits and that one seems to fit nicely, my Z seems low as is so i figure it should fit nicely. I will be waiting until summer to start purchasing but i will definitely keep all that in mind, have you got any other body suggestions? I am not a big fan of kits such as the: Vader or the wide Veilside kits.
On the other hand, i love the N-2 Style front-end or the Nismo V3. Still have some searching to do.
I've heard the rebuttals between Matte and Shine debate. I have yet to make a firm decisions but all this helps!! Ill keep the shine in mind.
Any ideas on the rims? What is the widest I can fit on the back. I have considered 275's - 285's but i feel like anymore than that is just too much.

Thanks again for the tips guys, i'm glad i chose this forum!

She's got 120K with a new clutch and all. Changed the timing belt and oil upon getting her. Since it as a gift, i am not sure how much it costed.
Those are Steel rims equipped with winter tires. One of many important rules for winter are to have dedicated tires.

They are timing chains? HOLY! Thanks for letting me know!
Well the dealer said the belt was changed......so i had taken that assumption without question. It seems there is a lot i don't yet understand about the car! I must admit, my father did all of the work so so far all I Personally have done, is clean it and change the oil haha. Synthetic is alright, right?
From your pic, your chariot looks real nice.
How much do you think a professional Matte Black job would cost?

With respects to Audi, they are a comfortable ride. Watch for the Water pump though, it's their Achilles Heel along with random points where your oil is low, out of the blue. It's a common problem as far as i have heard.

I also heard that 350's burn oil as well. Keeping a Quart in my trunk at all times!

You're never too old for a sporty little car but our age does change preference.

I've just changed over to these steel rims. I have a set of the Stock 350Z rims on summer tires sitting in the garage, so for now those will be fine. I want to make sure my steps are taken carefully so as to reduce unnecessary expenditures; those TE37-SL Black Editions are stuck in my head, i don't think i'll be able to change my mind on them.

History tells me this will turn into a Varrstoen/ ebay lip set up that's student owned with a high mileage Z, please prove it to be wrong.
