Been talking to a dealer all week long about a Daytona Blue 350Z, they had me one in West Virginia, then it was sold when they called. So then I decided Red would be ok. SO we found one in Ashland, Ky. So they called the dealer and they would drive up a z and trade cars with the dealer for my car. We'll I had done all the financing and everything and finally got approved. Well today was the day I was going to ride up with the dealer to pickup my car. We'll I get a call this morning sharp at 8am.. and all lsat nite i couldnt sleep waiting for this car. Dealer says, " I have bad news!", i say woh what's happening? He says well I showed up to work this morning and my z i was going to drive up is gone, got a call in the early hours this morning and a police saw a truck with a z on teh back of it flatbedded. They didnt follow the truck i dont know why! So I am screwed, i had alreayd made all kinda plans to cruise in this car this weekend, and now it looks like we cant find another Red or Daytona Blue Performance within 1,000 miles of here. This SUCKS!!!

 

Sorry this happened to you. Bad news from "up north" in KY.

I just checked this dealer in Alcoa, TN, by going to www.nissanusa.com and it said they had both a blue and a red Z. You might give them a call - or have your dealer give them a call. Maybe these Z's are not promised to anyone yet. One was a Base 350 and one a Touring, though - in case you decide not to go with the Performance.

i feel your pain man as i am in the same boat. i really do to endure that ridiculous 3+ month wait that many of you did - how you did that i have no idea.


signed the papers wednesday albiet the vin number missing. deposit and down payment. check. now as for driving away in a brand spanking new z, thats a different story...


daytona blue enthusiast is what im gunning for. black id consider as well. none found. or so he said.....

he said he found [a daytona blue] one in the area (NE) but there was a pending deal on it so that wasnt gonna fly.

i scoped the nissan website and checked all the dealer inventory 50 miles within me. daytona blue enthusiast. check. all the options i want as well. i call up this dealer to inquire about the car and sure enough NO DEAL on it. when asked about the possibility of swapping inventory, he said they dont do that but, insisted i go down there and sign the papers. bleh. my dealer still insists that one is one that has been ordered by a customer thats been waiting 3 months...


now my dealer has a black enthusiast but in automatic. according to the dealer that had my car in stock hes just waiting it out to see if ill budge and go for the black one. not gonna happen.

on the lighter side of things - hes located a daytona blue enthusiast with a clear bra already installed. weeeee. should be able to pick it up monday! *crosses fingers*


well anyways good luck on getting your Z man. As ares said anticipation makes the prize sweeter so remember that.

 

A lot of us waited 3-4 months to get ours so what you are going through seems relatively easy.

 

3-4months? I remember 6-8! I never had a preorder, but I was waiting here with all those that did.

 

It could have been way worse. They could have stolen it AFTER you bought it.

With all this. I finally found a Redline Enthusiast in Nashville which is about 60 miles south. Do you guys see any major downfall with going down to the Enthusiast then the Performance? I wanted the 18" wheels is why I liked the Enthusiast soo much, but i see the major differences is the wheels and the tire pressure monitoring? Thanks!

 

do you plan to get new rims? the differences are VDC, TPS, and 18" rims. thats all.

but dont get anxious man.. make sure you want red. a blue performance could pop up tomarrow.

 

the easiest way to make the time fly is look at this board and make a list of all the mods you are gonna do to her. Thats the only way i got through my wait.
