I would get the suspension first. And Some spacers. At least that way the car is dropped and sits with form and flush at the same time
( I also own an 05 and I am doing the same)

Get the wheels first. The car will look alot better now vs. when you get coilovers and lower it with the stock wheels and it will look weird.

yeah new wheels first for sure. New wheels really do set your car off and make it different looking.

I'm actually with go7roo7. I would drop if first, then get new wheels.

I would start with punctuation. It is more important than wheels or coilovers. That being said...get wheels. The Z is low enough to not look terrible while you save up again.

Disagree. Lowered even on stock rims can look pretty nice. Changing the stance to be more aggressive is one of the best looking mods IMO.

OP, "budget coils" anything from Fortune Auto coilovers to D2 coilovers. $500 - $1,000 but don't expect it to enhance performance. Actually be prepared for a $hitty ride. You can get lowered but I've heard big complaints on both those coils ride quality.

Budget wheels you could go with anything from Varrsteon. (Volk knock-offs) It's $1000 for all four wheels though. Be prepared to pay at least that much for a set of wheels. If that's too much for you then go ahead and forget modding.

My favorite "budget wheels" Enkie RPF1 flat black 18x9.5 , 18x10.5
Still $1,500 for a set though.

Go with wheels first, I made the mistake of going coilovers first. I am in the mean time stuck with bad fitment :'(

I would look for a set of V2 wheels if you really hate the V1 wheels that much. I love my V2 wheels, especially since I powdercoated them gunmetal and added spacers!

Coilovers first, your fitment is going to look like garbage with stock suspension.

I went coilovers first and now I'm saving up for wheels, I have no regrets.
Coilovers on stock wheels still looks good but wheels on stock suspension looks terrible.
With coilovers first you will look good the whole time then even better when you get wheels.

^ As if a nice set of wheels doesn't look lame on a stock suspension...

Doesn't look to bad, and doesn't look like the typical ricer civic with cut springs with the owner " waiting " to buy wheels

Hmmm, good arguments both ways. I guess I'm biased because of the stock Rays.

OP which wheels do you have? 17'' or 18''? I actually love the touring V1 18'', the only downside is that they are just 8'' wide

No need to mess with a perfectly good suspension. Do you really need coilovers? Are you going to auto cross it?
