Default Does the Z have a "Black Box?"

Although I am sure that this has previously been discussed here, I could not find anything when I searched for it. So... Does the Z have one of those crappy black boxes that can be used against you in case you get in an accident and you were driving over the speed limit (no, I haven't been in an accident). Also, if it does have a black box, is there anyway to disable it? Thx.

I don't know if the Z has the black box for sure, but I suspect it does. Most cars with the "intelligent" air bags have a device that records the last 5 seconds of your activity. The reason for the black box's existence is to allow the "intelligent" air bags to deploy correctly in the event of an accident. The air bag needs to know the speed of the car to determine the explosive charge to use for air bag deployment. Cars are getting smarter all the time.

I have one in mine. Its called a "Drive Right" Car Chip EX. It records all kinds of info from the ECU onto a chip that you can later download onto your home PC. It records the time, date, speed every 5 sec, air flow rate coolant temp, Intake air temp, battery voltage, fuel trim , fuel system status, timming, engine load, etc, etc. You can

Besides the older Z32 being turbo, this is yet another way the old Z32 is superior to the Z33.

Well, even though the Z33 is safer. I guess its a choice huh? Safety vs Privacy.
