Whats so funny about sweatpants and slippers? Maybe its just because I'm 34 and not trying to impress people every single time I leave my house (just most times)... but I drive places in sweats and slippers as long as I'm mainly driving and not walking around (Wouldn't go to a mall, restaurant etc).
OP- Every wreck post gets flamed pretty good on the board unless its a rear/side impact. Its because most wrecks are the dumb@ss 16-early 20s morons driving like they are invincible. Its pretty much par for the course. Generally, the board is correct. Not 100% though.
Slightly off topic, but- Personally, I must drive like a grandpa (I honestly don't) because I have never lost even a little bit of control of mine. Knock on wood 100x.

If it was ok an S turn. Then I can see you taking the first turn too wide and gettin into the said "gravel/marbles" like you said...
But still
You'd have to be pushing it!

Id turn it into a pick up truck. Like they do with the 240SXs.
I imagined him slipping on the ice with his house slippers on when he got out of the car. It made me chuckle. Falling down slippers flying everywhere...
OP were you wearing a shirt or just the pants and slippers?

The road is N.Turkey creek road and hwy 285. ~ 2 miles in.
And don't worry, I don't deliver pizza's so no customer to be upset... lol
I've driven the car daily for 6 years and have taken it through some pretty hard corners. So for this to happen at such low speeds pisses me off...
Don't really care what you have to say on the subject. I was there and know what happened. Unless you've been through every scenario and road with your Z then you might have some ground to stand on. Since you haven't and have no real expertise on the situation, please go somewhere else.
not really "defensive" just a little irritated by how some people can be so ignorant.
This thread isn't here to debate how small your crank shaft is... Just looking for actual intelligence related to my accident.
If you're not here to help then FK off... Just trying to get my car back on the road.

I give the OP credit for coming on here and posting what was clearly a mistake. We all make 'em and fortunately, the Z is such a competent car it covers our a$$es. This time it didn't and so you live and learn. It could've been much worse.
As for rebuilding the ZR, that's going to be tougher. The front a-pillar and windshield frame is obviously a structural unit. It also houses the latching mechanism for the top, so deleting it will cause problems. The lack of structural rigidity will also affect the car, so that would have to be addressed before it goes back on the road.
If the insurance company is offering it back for a grand, that's a somewhat attractive option. But it won't be cheap or easy to fix, and the ZR will always carry a salvage title.

Dude 2 miles in from where you said the road looks fine. You had to be going more then 35mph and drove off the edge of the road. I took my first Z over a curb trying to drift a corner, but dude there is not way at 35mph on that road you rolled.

The Z33's FM platform is a pretty stiff starting point, but loping off the roof, B and C-pillars is going to affect any car. The ZR has a W-shaped brace (you can actually see it pretty well in the first shot of the car upside down) bolted to the undercarriage that helps this a bit. The front of the car (even on a coupe) relies heavily on the A-pilliar attachment to provide longitudinal stiffness. Once that's gone, the other structural elements that Nissan put in can't function effectively.
