A Few Questions on 6MT Touring
I recieved my Z last Saturday and have a few questions:
1) Do your guages lite automagically for you? (Even when my light switches are off, my guages are lit, for example in the garage.)
2) I thought I was to get all the performance options with a 6MT Touring? It appears I have VDC but no TCS. I am basing this on the fact that I have a "VDC off" switch, but know "TCS off switch".
3) I have power seats and only appear to have switches for "front-back" and "recline". My other adjustment is a **** to adjust the front portion of the seat...up and down. For some reason I thought there was supposed to be "lumbar" adjustment and maybe a way to adjust the entire seat up and down.?
4) What is the recommended tire pressure for the 18's on the car?
5) Did this (6mt touring) car come with LSD? (Limited slip differential)
Darn...1200 miles can't come soon enough!!!.

The guages stay on all the time but you can't tell in the bright light. Found the trunk release yet? (I cheated and used the book)
Also there's nice usable locked space behind the passenger's seat.

2. There is no separate switch for the VDC and TCS, they are turned off/on together.
4. On (I'm pretty sure) all cars there should be a sticker on the drivers side door (near the lock, only visivle when opened) that should show the proper cold tire pressure (for the tires that came on the car)

can't answer 1 or 5 because I dont have a Z yet and the one I drove was an enthusiast model.

If it's set up on one switch (VDC and TCS) does that mean that ONLY a "VDC Off" light will come on? I don't see a "TCS Off" light when I hit the switch...only a "VDC Off" light.

Take a look on the center console's lid...that's where it has the cold tire pressure...I believe it's 35 psi all the way around. As for the inside hatch release, try the strut tower brace!

3. seats are as you describe. no lumbar support. **** adjusts the front of the seat up and down, can't raise the whole seat.

5. yes, I think all have lsd except for maybe base ( don't remember for sure)

internal release
I thought the whole idea was that you didn't need a normal internal release like most hatchbacks?
That is, when the car itself is unlocked, so is the hatch, so you just go to the back and lift it up using the latch located on the back of the car, right?
I think that's better than having to pull some other latch inside the car somewhere (like I have to in my integra).
This might also be a retro type thing because the 240Z just had that little button type latch on the back lid.
Why would you twist around to reach the emergency hatch opener on the strut brace when you can just open the hatch directly?

I believe it is to satisfy federal safety requirements (like all new cars have an emergency trunk release inside the trunk). It is not meant to be used, except for in an emergency. In normal use you either use the remote, or press the button over the license plate.

Hmm, too bad. I like having a little level to pull next to the seat to open the trunk. That way, if you're already sitting in the car, and the passenger walks up to put something away, you can just open the trunk for them.
Instead, now you have to either 1) let them fumble around trying to open it or 2) get out.

most likely your remote will be attached to the same keychain as your key that is in the ignition, right?
Besides, it may be in your best interest to get out, since most people (in my experience) always seem to slam the back closed too hard, making me cringe every time.
