I'm shopping for a another Z currently just sold a chrome silver touring coupe mainly because there are too many of that color in my area. I have been looking for red or super black with a small chance of yellow.
I do find my self saying it's definitely red for a week and then next week comes and I'm looking at super black so kind of stuck in a loop at the moment but well see how it plays out on the day of since I'll be content with either as long as it has 6mt/leather heated seats.
overall I agree it's better to be patient when it comes to a buying a car you want to keep for 5+ years.

Don't ever settle if something is that important to you. I remember looking for a 350z for myself for 2 1/2 to 3 months back in the summer of 2011 before buying mine. I remember that I had a list of things I wanted mine to have and not have.
I did not want:
A 2003 or really even a 2004 because within two years they would be 9-10 years old.
A roadster.
An automatic
A sunset or charcoal or silver Z
I did not want it to have more than 80k miles
I did not want it to have any spoiler
Things I did want it to have:
Cruise Control
Completely stock everything so I could do all the mods myself
I wanted blue the most then black
I wanted an 06 or 07 for 15k or less which at the time was a lot to ask
I wanted it to have a clean title
I ended up with a 2006 350z with 48,500 miles that just needed to the headlights to be restored and some new o2 sensors. Almost 2 years later, I couldn't be happier.

I'd definitely wait, as the old saying goes 'good things come to those that wait'. Set your criteria and stick to it, i ended up waiting to get the Zed that fulfilled my wish list and i don't regret waiting at all, in fact i think i enjoy my Zed all the more for waiting.

Hr is out my budget I'm buying cash, and I'm not goin to spend majority of my savings on a car. No thanks, I just want a nice Z all that other stuff is cool but it doesn't matter. And technically your HR is old hence 370z is out. Thanks for your helpful insight (sarcasm)

I wanted either Black or Le Mans Sunset. But I found a car in great condition, really low mileage and a great price in Liquid Aluminum.
I have always said no to silver cars, but after owning it, I don't know how I was ever thinking of the other colours.
You are buying a used car, IMO you will never find one 100% what you are looking for. The Z is a great car, you will still get compliments, enjoy looking at it, and enjoy driving it regardless of colour.

when I was looking for my Z, color was never my concern. I wanted 3 things. Manual, coupe, and low miles. Ended up with a 06 WV2 touring with 36k miles. I found 100% what I was looking for. =)

I was looking for an '06 and up Roadster with leather and navi a few months ago. Had to be a 6MT. Found a Daytona blue AT. Was willing to settle because there was a small chance the Mrs. might drive it a little too and I wouldn't feel as guilty getting a 2 seater. Then I remembered how little she drove my car anyways. Kept looking.
Found the exact Z I was looking for. A '06 K32 silver 6MT Touring roadster. Frosted leather and navi. 40K miles.
I'm still shocked at how friggin' awesome this car is. Wow
