Default new coupe or used enthusiast

Hey guys im trying to make a decision before i get the car.

Should i get a brand new coupe or should i get a used enthusiast with about 2-5 thousand miles on it. The only thing i would like on the enthusiast is the HID lights i think look awesome, if anyone has a pic with the coupe lights compared to the HID lights that would help me lots also.

Hmm . . . I remember when I was shopping that I would not buy the base model since it didn't have HIDs. The enthusiast model should have them and it looks a lot better (sorry, no pics). As for buying new or used, if I had to do it all over again, I would buy used. Who cares someone else drove it for 3K or so . . . just test drive it for a day (they'll let you take it home if you're real serious) and take note of how it runs. Don't spend over $25K on a car that has HIDs on 4 of its trim lines and 1 without . . . I can't believe Nissan did that.

i would rather have a used enthusiast ... cause of the HID and the LSD

as long as the used car has been well taken care of by the last owner

More for your money used. You get traction control on the Enthusiast too...a very nice addition.

i say get the used Enth. HID's are cool and LSD is a must.

i wish traction control could be an option, personally i dont like it...not to mention unecessary weight.

Peace of mind always inherent with new (as opposed to used).

<<The only thing i would like on the enthusiast is the HID lights i think look awesome>>

Need HID's? Get an aftermarket kit for ~$300-450 (or wrecking yard for Nissan OEM ballasts). Supposedly [aftermarket kits are] much better than the Nissan stock (as indicated by those that have done conversions, both Base and non-Base owners). Install? A few great pictorials/step-by-step instructions available on this board. The consensus has it about 2-4 hours install time.

My copper disks.

so try to negotiate the price of a new enthusiast to meet your price range, im sure these things wont go for msrp anymore. and a used enthusiast should be in the low 20s like 20-22k regardless of miles, 0.02

Parents would have to be absolutely nuts to buy any 17 year old kid (no matter how good a driver) a car like the Z w/o all the safety equipment possible including side-curtain airbags.

I hope your parents pay enough attention to understand the safety options and insist you get them.

is $24,500 a decent price for a 03 enthusiast with 7k miles? I noticed the KBB private part value is $29,800

Ive been looking around a lot and id say thats a pretty good price.

Parents would have to be absolutely nuts to buy any 17 year old kid (no matter how good a driver) a car like the Z w/o all the safety equipment possible including side-curtain airbags.
