First lesson, The Z costs money to mod, you have to pay to play. Since your car is only a DD, regular oem headers will work so just look for a set of resonated test pipes to prevent rasp, Motordyne art pipes would be the best. for your final drive, that would be a great mod for a DD car, i would try to go with the 3.9 final drive, it will feel a lot faster

I have a very heavy foot, and still average around 20 in the city and averaged 26.8 during a 4 hour drive on the interstate a couple weeks ago!

A Nismo catback exhaust sounds really good. And wtf is with everyone getting JWT popcharger? Did I miss something? The Nismo CAI is a true cold air intake, it sounds better, looks better and it gains a little more horsepower since it's not a short ram like the JWT. You can also get a uprev tune when your done with buying anymore parts.

Prove it. You've got an extra couple feet of aluminum tubing that can help heat the air. You'd probably be better off with Stock Airbox, Evo-R carbon intake tube that will negate heat a bit better, and one of those front air intake port things that go in the front bumper.

Actually, those of us that have tested intakes have shown that they all pull the same temp. The only intake that has hotter air is a short ram without heat shield. Then a short ram also pull hotter air hole standing still.

I like short ram for the road course, the loss of power from a dead stop is no concern to me, it does slightly effect drag racing.

Thats the same exact thing as the Nismo CAI. The tubing is what costs horsepower. Carbon fiber would make no difference because as Terra said already, every intake pulls the same temp.

Best intakes are:

Stock 06+ airbox with aftermarket filter (for performance)
Stillen Intake with heatshield (for sound and performance)
Popcharger with heat shield (for sound and performance)

Unless your FI just use the stock box.

Since it's your daily, you're on a budget and I'm guessing you owe money on the car - save your money and/or pay the car loan off early and keep it stock…unless you're ready to spend $2k to $3k on NA mods and a tune than you're just wasting your money...
