because racecar.

I decided that I'd rather have a fast race car than a competitive race car. Thus, I sold the Miata I had raced for 10 years and bought a 350Z.

Liked the uniqueness, appearance, and performance of the Nismo. Everybody asks "what kind of car is that?" And the car is reasonably obtainable.

haha exact same story minus the Maxima. I think my mom was getting work done to her van back in '06 when I was 18 and I brought a pamphlet home and hung it on my wall. It was a side shot of a silver track edition Z inside of an airplane hangar.

Ive always liked 350Z's but thought they were out of my budget so I never looked much past that. Ive been wanting an 06-08 Acura TSX 6 speed for the last 3 years but they are still pretty expensive for a ~200hp car (15k+). Then a friend of mine picked up an '03 touring for almost half the cost and I was surprised! I picked up my Z about a month later and I love the car and everything about it. Plus its faster out of the box and RWD.

Only regret is I wont be boosting the Z, where as the TSX I wouldve boosted within the year or two since it can handle almost 400whp on stock internals. Yup, I miss my turbo Civic.

Dad had a z and i always wanted one, but I always wanted a v8 car. Went to dealership, tried a mustang gt and camaro ss, felt like i was driving a boat, they didnt have any 370s, so i tried a porsche cayman they had and it was a blast. My friend was like why dont you try the 350z? its basically like a porsche. I took the keys got in and realized he wasnt lying. Bought the car and took off.

There's just something about the way it looks.

Plus it's everything I've ever wanted in a car. 6 speed, rear wheel drive, sticks to the road like it's glued down, and goes like stink for an unbelievable price if you know where to look and have patience.

Plus, coming from a vehicle with literally almost no aftermarket support, having this thing is like a dream come true. Limitless possibilities limited only by your wallet and creativity.

Okay. I have had my 04 Lemans Enthusiast 6 speed for just over a year. I got it because the wife, in a moment of weakness, loaned out my Maxima to the guy across the street. I always wanted one, having driven my bosses 240Z a little back in the day, one of the first 100 built.
Yeah, two seats is sometimes an advantage. And, it is just so damn much fun to drive.

Long story short it was my dads dream car and it wouldn't be a practical or a financially sound purchase for him so i bought one so he could drive it anytime he wants.

I'd had a couple of SR20DET's before, one pretty much standard, the other tuned and quite fancied the look of the 350. After a bit of research and taking a test drive convinced me that this was going to be my next car so my hunt for a tidy one with full NSH followed and I've never looked back, I love it as much now as the day i bought it.
Front wheel drive sends me to sleep, so boring. I much prefer being pushed to being pulled.

Drove a friends and thought wow this thing can handle corners so well stock. I happen to find one at a decent price while looking at a 2014 Mazda6 for the wife. I took her on a test drive and she loved it. Dealer wouldn't come down on the Mazda6 so I told them give me a deal on both. We took the z home and left the 6 wife is in love with it as am I.

Same as several others.

1) Always liked the Datsun / Nissans Zs since the beginning. ...
I loved the 240z, but since I was only 13 when it was introduced. The Z's of the 1980s, not so hot and fell out of love. Loved the 4th generation (Z32), but was having the family & wasn't practical for me at the time.

2) Loved the styling, affordablity, and performance of the 350Z. .... It is the total package for a sports car.

3)Cheap speed. ....Most bang for the buck.

4)Nissan fan. .... Great dependability. At the time I bought the Z, my daily driver was a 2000 Maxima. It is such a great car, I still have it --gave it to my daughter. The Max has 180,000 miles and still runs great.

hada modified rsx (first car). But it was an auto. So had to fix that.

Looked at s2k, wrx and zed.

v6 appealed to me, along with the RWD.

dont regret my decision.

My previous car was a 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege that I purchased in '07.

I had the engine professionally built and did the whole car up, intercooler, blow off valve, full exhaust, intake, lightweight flywheel, upgraded clutch, boost controller, etc.etc.etc...

Well, the engine blew up a few weeks ago and I decided I was done with turbo's, 4 cylinder and FWD.

I never thought I'd buy a convertible, and I was actually looking for a 350z Coupe. I went to the dealer just to test drive the convertible with no thoughts on buying it. I drove the Roaster around the dealership with the top up and when the test drive was over, the Sales guy said "Don't you want to go around one more time with the top down?"

I didn't really care about having the top down, but I wanted to feel the raw power again, so I said "Sure."

After that second drive with the top down? I was sold. Loved the acceleration, handling was great, looked good, and I was really itching for anything non-FWD.

Bought it that day.

I like Nissan's, I like rwd, I had a bad *** 600+hp SR s13 coupe I built, stolen from me.

I didn't want to build another 240 but had to have a rwd drivers car again, so I decided I wanted to build up a Z. So here I am learning all over again. Great car to start with 280hp. That's about what a stock sr20det with a gt2871rs .86 makes at 9 -10psi. Difference is the 240 will be faster due to the weight difference. I know because I raped 350z's in the midst of my 240 build.
Sorry cant help the comparing its a habit.

She's still fun as hell to drive, cant wait till I get some muscle car power out of her.
