The track has a lot to do with ride height. The JGTC cars that race Autoclub 5 or 6 years ago learned that.

Then suspension is also a huge black art. The combo if spring rate, damper setting, sway bar , geometry , toe/camber , then even aero. Lots of stuff to figure out.

Then King, you may be fast on the back roads, but when you hit the track , it is a huge difference. What feels good on the street , may really hinder the car when pushed to 10/10th.

I am not a fan of huge camber, so what I plan on doing is running a pretty low ride height on wide wheels and meaty tires, in order to have a nice stance and maintain its functionality. Where i'm from some people like to call it "meatflush".

I agree on all points! What fast for Tantalus, probably get be left behind on the Dragon or any AutoX course...

What's a meaty tire to you?

Not needed lol Russ's black Z is so damn sexy!

I still prefer my 275mm/18x9.5 square set-up. Square tire is without a doubt, by far, the best thing you can do to a 350Z. It makes the car feel much more neutral instead of fighting understeer the entire time.

Not hard to turn heads when your cars look broken.

Turning after racing 140mph down the hwy, lol

When 3 hellaflush cars race each other, you all lose.

Honestly I don't understand the hate for either form of modding. We all have a love for the platform, just because on loves form over function and the other the opposite who cares. The love of the culture should be the only thing that matters.

im on the rocks about all this. while i would never do such things to my own car, the overly aggressive camber, and bodykits, etc leave a sour taste in my mouth in general if not properly executed. but when i see them in person im intrigued. its nice seeing diversity, it really is. and i catch myself checking out the wheel fitment, and seeing how such kits change the body (for better or worse), and what has to be done to accommodate such mods. they may not be mine or others taste, useful, or even tasteful in general (which is subjective), but i do appreciate the diversity. besides, it seperates the guys who actually drive their cars, and the guys who park their cars

case in point; bmcann, muzzy, and greengoblins cars are excellent examples of what most would say are aggressive bodies, even over the top. nothing i would ever do to my own car personally. however the way they executed it is a prime example of how a well thought out, properly executed setup changes what we say is ugly, to indubitably badass, and attractive. those cars are perfectly done, at least imho, but its all subjective, as is everything else in life.

but there is no excuse, ever, for running those ugly bubble tailights. not ever.

take all the cars in this thread to the same track, give them to an experienced driver, and compare lap times. heck y'all can just compare cars/drivers. other than that everyone and their mom thinks their car handles the best and is the fastest.

I think we need a hellaflush vs normal shoot out at Autoclub speedway during the Fontana Nissan meet in Sept.
