Debating on Selling the Z

Debating on Selling the Z
Well I only put about 2,000 miles on the z this year and just seem to be getting bored of it. It's a 2004 touring with 48k, plain and stock.
I'm going to be getting tired of storing it for winter and maintain my other daily driver. I have been looking into either the brz or wrx. Winters in upper ny suck and always are bitter, with much snow.
Have any of you guys sold your z then regretted it?

I bought an 05 STi last year just in time for the lovely NE winters, and have never had so much fun in the snow. First winter I've enjoyed in as long as I can remember. Though I was lucky enough to come into a position that didn't force me to sell my Z, so take this with a grain of salt...
Best thing to do would be drive them all, back to back if possible, and see which one brings the biggest smile to your face. If it turns out it isnt the Z, are you willing to take on payments, or do you have the cash to buy a car outright? Dont forget a possible insurance increase, and maintenance.
Finally, good luck in your decision, I know its not easy!

Thanks guys seems like I'm not the only one in this situation.. I guess the love of the z wore off when I can't fit groceries or my fathers wheelchair in it lol
Well I wouldnt have the cash so I would need to finance it, I owe about 4,000 on my z and my other car is older and paid off. It would pay the balance off for sure though.
It's hard to find an unmodded wrx around here. I never have driven one but I was debating on waiting for the new gen of the wrx.
It's fun driving the z and it's very reliable. I average about 18 mpg because of the city driving and my driving style.
I could even sell my current car or trade in and use the money to pay off my z and finance a wrx.

Basically it's a 6 vs 4 cylinder and what you can do with them if modding in future. Z anything, other one already turbo. Next borrowing to buy, or just adding to current. Which is saving in the long run. Storage both so nothing different there. I thought like that and one month later I had my Z at 491hp. No more boring. No more thinking about it. By the way mine is a 2003 Track Model with 20,450 miles on it total. Storage or garage - oh yes.

Hmmm I don't think I would be able to really afford those kind of mods. I guess it's more of a convenient thing to only worry and maintain one car.
Even if I did get a wrx I would keep it stock. I know modding is fun and all but it gets pricey fast.
I love my z and get a smile everyday I drive but it's lost it's lust. I would hope awd and turbo could make up for it.

Stock Z = meh but tastefully modded Z = will keep your interest longer
I miss your Z, you elevated us all to another level and made me forget about all the newbs who think plasti-dipping everything is a modification

Yeah I owe 4k I bought it used only one year ago. Fyi it's a 9 year old car. MSRP is 34k.
Compare apples to apples it's not like it's a ten year old civic with negative equity.
Bought it with tax and financing about 16k. I don't think owing 4,000 is bad at all as it's all positive equity. Dealer offered me $12,000 just minutes ago.

I stopped by the nissan dealership yesterday to look at 370s but no luck. They had a 2009 WRX and figured i would test drive it since i had never driven one before. It just wasn't comfortable to drive for me. It was fairly quick no doubt, I just wouldn't like to drive it everyday. I felt less connected with the car than my Z. The wrx shifted smooth and all but just wasn't what i'm used to in a sports car i guess. In the end i would pick my Z over a WRX. Everybody is different and have different tastes in cars. GL deciding!

Get a regular WRX or a 2.5RS from the late 90s. Don't get a BRZ because that is a downgrade from the 350Z and you still won't be able to drive in the winter anyways. You can also get a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4.

car should be good for another year next year might be tough though as im running out of things to put on

I agree mods would add so much to the love of the z and daily driving but with the small amount of miles I put more a waste. I only had some issues when I tried to fit a wheelchair in my trunk I thought it would fit under the strut bar and sadly it didn't. I love the torque and feel when I push on the gas.
I guess I'll have to test drive one as you have and see. I personally hate the interior of Subaru.
The daily driver/winter car I have has a lot of sentimental value as my dad taught me to drive stick in it, and just means a lot. It's got only 100K and is a dependable car.

Everybody wants a Subaru or VW up here. Personally I'd pay off the Z and mod it. It seems like every Z I've seen here so far is stock, with the exception of like 2 or 3.
Oh yeah, and maybe its just me because I spent almost 13 years painting cars. But do you really want to drive a car you care about during the winter with all that damn salt they throw down? You'd be washing your car like crazy. These cars up here with the rust all over the place makes me cringe thinking my car could end up like that.

Yeah this is true all the cars up here have a ton of damage from salt, either the rear quarters or underbody. I don't think that "rust protection" stuff is worth it.
But there really are not many z's up here at all. If I see any a lot of the times all are stock. I'm aiming at paying it off by the end of this year. Then maybe either get a used wrx and keep the z or trade both cars in for a new one.
