Default Should I sell or keep

I have an 03 350z with about 60k miles. I've put some goodies in it like (single turbo, clutch, flywheel, LSD, brand new rack and pinion, spark plugs, new rotors and brakes, sound system, gauges, spoiler, new shocks...) well just a couple of things. I've been looking at other cars and I'm tempting to sell mine in order to something else. (Evo x, nismo 370, BMW)??? But when is time sell.... It's so hard to make the decision and let the Z go. It's like something is holding me back. I guess because I've never own a new car I'm tempting to buy something nice and new and maybe experience that new car smell for once. What do you guys think? Leave you comments and help me with my decision. Thanks!

If you've gotten tired of your car and have the means to upgrade than go for it. I've known many members who have moved on to other platforms and haven't regretted it for a second.

I guess my thinking is: do I spend more money on body kit, paint, etc... Or use that towards a new car?

^ Well keep in mind that a majority of the time, aftermarket parts do not increase the value of the car (the exception being performance mods), and in some cases can decrease the value. Just depends what the buyer is wanting. If your seriously wanting to get a new car, I would hold all the money I could and put it with the money I got for the sell. If everything looks good and runs good now, but your still considering selling it, don't put anymore money into it than you have to until your able to make up your mind about what you really want to do.

You will get nowhere near the value you put into the car when cashing it in.
Everyone knows that.
If you are comfortably sitting on money and wanting a new car.
Sell your Z while its still summer and get a new car.
If I were you, I would buy the new car ASAP so that I wouldnt have any excuses to sell the Z.

You can only shine a dime so many times until it gets dull if you get where im coming from

Yeah I am in the same boat, I have grown tired of my z and mainly because I don't drive it in winter. Its really a decision you have to make but a turbo z would be fun to drive lol. And the allure of a new car is nice, being the first one to own it. I would only buy a new car if it was something I would drive into the ground.

I think I'm going to keep mine simply because it was and is my dream car. I know in the future I'll get something else but keep this as well.

I've thought about it too however, i bought my car new so I've experience the new car smell thing. It's the car payments that i do not want to go through again. Plus, I don't want to start from scratch with a new car.

GL on your decision.

That is where they get you is tax and financing- especially if you finance for longer time like 60 months. For a 25K car after tax and financing you are paying around 30K. I'm going to try and save then just pay cash.

Honestly, I myself would never pay for a new car simply because the new car smell is not worth it to me. Used cars have better value and oem parts are usually not as good as aftermarket even brand new. I could have gotten a used 2009 fx35 if I didnt buy a brand new friggin altima coupe for the winter...but then again, I was young and inexperienced lol. Just my 2 cents.

Exactly if you search for a used car they can have better value. The government makes a lot of money, someone buys the car new and pays tax, then however many times the car is sold used each buyer pays tax- insane.

I think for the OP it comes down to payments. At least make payments for something you enjoy.

Is your car paid off? If it is, just keep it. You won't get anywhere near what you spent if you sell it. It's understandable you want to get a new car. Just stop modding and put the money towards a good decent payment on a new vehicle. Good luck.

^ wise words.

I'm in the same dillemma but honestly car payments suck. Being that mine is just paid off it's awesome to have something reliable. And as much as I have the urge to buy something new the Z still looks great. People always ask me what year my 03 is and it's always 07+. Obviously people who don't really know z's but still, it's a great car.

Thanks for all your comments. And yes, the Z is a great car. When I got my car it was used in great conditions but It was my daily. I was to young and didn't realize that a 2 seat car is best as a 2nd car. Due to that I have a couple if dents and the regular wear that a daily gets. Now I do have a pick-up truck as a daily and don't drive the Z or my bike (hayabusa) much, the good thing is that it got paid off a long time ago and the only car payment is my wife's pathfinder. Zs are very fun to drive in my opinion specially every time I hear the BOV going off.. Lol.

Do what makes you happy. If your unhappy with the car, sell/trade it. If your happy, you will treat your car with care.

Keep it a play toy and buy yourself a newer daily driver.

Looks nice minus the tail lights. How very clean and taken care of.

I agree keep it as a toy. I was going to sell mine as well but after tax and finance I would lose too much.

Maybe just get something different for a daily driver
